I side with Kevin Smith on the John Hughes opinions (for those who don't know what I'm referring to, check out the Donnie Darko Director's Cut commentary).

John Hughes never started to suck, and Jim Belushi is awesome because he's so goddamn funny. "According to Jim" was one of the best shows I've ever seen. As far as John Hughes is concerned, what kind of fun-hating asshole didn't like Home Alone 2?

Totally agree. Too bad it started all the other random Home Alones.

To be fair, Hughes did write "Home Alone 3"... However, my Flixster review of said movie reads: "Not as bad as you'd think. Hughes still knows how to write them." And who am I to argue with past me? It really sucks compared to the first two, but if you separate it from the source material (like Super Mario Bros.) and take the film as a spy thriller spoof, it really isn't that bad.
