Things that don't go together, but we mix them anyways

Common Examples You Already Know
* Dogs & Cats
* Ice & Coffee
* Google Desktop & Mac OS X
* Norton Antivirus and anything else

Here is a New Example You Probably Didn't Know
* IIS 6 + PHP + MySQL + vBulletin

This combination is a horror show to install and configure. This week it has been my primary task to migrate one system just like this to a new system just like it. What takes about 5 minutes on a Linux box has taken me about 10 hours at this point.

Does it really need to be this hard?

The answer from Microsoft? Sure does. Use SQL if you want it to be easy. If you go free you are going to pay with your time.

My condolences to anyone who has to take this task on in their future.
