From Ubisoft, makers of Prince of Persia, comes Assassin's Creed... which is basically the same damn thing.

Yeah, kind of. Either way, the preview they had in EGM showed it was still full of bugs and basically said if the problems arent taken care of, the game will be no good.

The lack of a demo really says a lot imo.

I like the idea of free exploring through a crusade-era middle eastern city. I like the idea of swordfighting based around parrying, countering and one-hit lethal blows. The stealthy shit looks fun. I don't really see anything about the concept that annoys me, it just looks like Thief or something but with better gameplay.

I'm looking forward to it. I loved Hitman, and I think AC is its spiritual sucessor.

The newest commercial for AC uses the theme song from House as its background music. What the fuck?

I havent played this game yet, since everything I have read and heard from friends says its very repetitive after the first mission, but here is some new info about a DS Assassin's Creed:

The folks at Go Nintendo have unearthed the first details on the confirmed-but-not-yet-revealed Nintendo DS version of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed. Rather than simply downgrade the highly ambitious console and PC versions, the publisher appears to have given the game it's own storyline set before the events of Assassin's Creed and implemented a much more classic Prince of Persia gameplay setup.

Titled Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles, the game's touch screen will apparently be used to interrogate suspects and pickpocket those around you, while the top screen features a fully 3D environment for you to explore. Other than that, though, we don't have much else to go on -- but we'll let you know when we do.
