As some of you may know, there is going to be a Friday the 13th remake. It will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman and written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift, who also wrote Freddy Vs. Jason.
The murderer will be Jason, he will wear the goalie mask, and it takes place in Camp Crystal Lake.
Do you think that the remake will do well or fail? I think that it will do better and be praised more than say, Jason X.
Also feel free to discuss your favorite and least favorite Friday the 13th films.

Jason X was pure unadulterated camp. As such, it was entertaining. The thing is, while I'm always entertained by the Jason movies, I never had much emotional investment in them, so the idea of a remake doesn't bother me as much as, say, Rob Zombie's panned Halloween remake.

It could be OK, so long as they don't take it seriously.

The last three Jason movies have been Elseworlds stories - not that VIII left the series in a good place. Reboot it seriously, tongue-in-cheeky, parody, I really don't care.
That said, "Child's Play" is getting a remake:
October 20, 2007 Don Kirschner told STYD that a remake of the classic 1988 horror film "Child's Play" is in the works and it promises to be more terrifying than the original.
"The next one we’re going to do is we’re going back and remaking the first one and even pushing it further and making a very terrifying version of the first one, which is pretty scary as it is."
The original of course doesn't need a remake. But the success of "Halloween" means they gotta make a remake.
"It’s kind of commerce to keep the franchise going, and another reason to go see it."
For that, Dourif better be back and it better take place in Chicago. Other than that, Godspeed.

If Brad Dourif and Don Mancini aren't involved, it automatically fails.
Speaking of which, Mancini had wanted to do a sixth movie Child's Play movie to complete the second trilogy and there were rumors that it would be a musical. Bride and Seed both doubled their money at the box office, so there's no reason why they shouldn't give Mancini one last film. And Chucky: The Musical would be fucking awesome.
