I just say Velvet Revolver live, eighth row, Sparta opened and they were both amazing. The majority of the songs, while I did recognize, I could not name. The songs I could name were: Slither, Mr. Brownstone, It's So Easy, Patience, The Last Fight, Fall to Pieces, and another one I would guess is called Set Me Free.

The Last fight I've never really liked but they actually did a pretty cool take of it, Weiland's singing was definately more hard rock than I'm used to him doing (for the whole show really, surprised me in a good way) and it definately got a few lighters out.

Fall to Pieces was a different story, its the same type of song, and I dislike it almost as much as I dislike The Last Fight, but, at the show, the gave it the studio treatment, creating almost utter crap.

Mr. Brownstone was probably my favorite performance of the night. It was a good take and again, Weilands hard rock vocals actually worked very well with the song (why the fuck doesn't he sing like that on records?). The stuck it in the middle part at the end was pretty tight, biting almost and they had cool lights synced into it. Would've been cooler with pyrotechnics (which the show completely lacked, by the way) but the lights were still very awesome. My only problem with this song was the intro. Some random rythym guitarist was playing a shitty rendition of the intro without the audible sliding while Slash played a bunch of poorly strung notes that kind of sounded like the original intro. Also, the intro was about 5 times longer than it is on the record.

It's So Easy was pretty good, he didn't do FUCK OFF! Very well but other than it was average.

Set Me Free (we'll call it) was an alright song (that may or may not have been led into by a rather wicked solo by Slash, not sure though, might've been another song). Musically, not very good, the best part was on the screen in the back they showed a quick slideshow of serial killers, I spotted Charles Manson, Richard Ramirez and Vlad the Impaler. Then it said something about Ted Bundy and showed a lot of pictures of him.

Slither was cool, pretty much like the record with two changes for the worse. The solo was different and came out kinda flat. The big one, after the song was supposed to end it just kept going, and going, and going. Eventually people started to leave, it kept going, I left, last thing I heard it was still going. When I left the house lights were up and everything too.

The openner was pretty good, they're from El Paso, Texas. I liked their first song and a couple others after that but a lot of it seemed to blend together, by the end of their set I was just waiting for Velvet Revolver to come on.

Overall I'd give'em an 8/10, much more metal than I expected and much more awesome as well. Now for the best part. Right before the openner came on Slash walked by and I said hi, he said hi back and kept going. That blows my mind and always will, I talked to Slash and was close enough I could've touched him (if I was creepy and weird), so yeah.

If you get the chance I highly reccomend seeing VR, also, this was their last gig on the tour.

Thanks for breaking the ice Boba, cuz I'm gonna do a Van Halen review after I see em.

My god I can't believe you saw Slash! I don't doubt that he would've said hi like that, he seems like a really cool dude.
