I know there are some other Magic players on the board, but does anyone draft? I was in a draft today and it was filled with all sorts of ridiculousness. I got a Pithing Needle second pick. In fact, my first five picks in the second pack went:

Paladin en-Vec
Pithing Needle
Nekrataal
Sengir Vampire
Juggernaut

This was a real draft with an acual prize, not some bullshit backdraft, so that sort of shit isn't supposed to happen. You never ever pass a Pithing Needle, and you really shouldn't let Sengir go around either, even if you're not in black.

My guess is that he was looking for packs with foil cards in them. A foil card weighs slightly more than a regular card due to the extra layer of print on it. But the weight difference is pretty miniscule. Also, weighing packs is an incredibly loser-y thing to do.

Yeah, it was Tenth. Everyone at the store I draft at is fucking sick of Time Spiral block. That, and Tenth is awesome. I'm going to be incredibly sad when Lorwyn officially comes out because then no one's gonna want to draft Tenth anymore.
