Are you on DS Lite? I thought it worked a little better on fat DS, which is what I have. I tried on my sisters Lite and it hindered my play. I'm not too great either though.

Nope, good ol' DS (at least until I buy a Lite and trade my good ol' DS for my friend's old PSP after he buys a new one of those).
