It was funny as heck. It was only a matter of time before family guy did a whole episode of starwars parodies. My favorite part has to be the joke with Danny Elfman. Anyone else enjoy this episode? I thought it was a good premier for family guy.

Ironically, there was a joke at the end on that very topic.

The Robot Chicken episode sucked. It was mostly recyclyed sketches from past shows.
The Family Guy episode was great. I don't understand why Chris killed Danny Elfman though... Danny Elfman fucking rules!

Elfman does rule and i am a fan. It could be that the writes of family guy favor Williams more or it could be that a lot of Elfman's works sounds exactly the same. I thought the casting was perfect, every Family Guy Character seemed to fit into their Starwars Characters well. And the couch . . . is the couch from the garbage the same as the one from the Griffin's living room?

I thought it was kind of dull and I didn't really laugh much. I did smile several times though with the "Airplane", "NL's Vacation", Gray Poupon, and other random non-SW related references. But I think my favorite part was the Seth MacFarlane vs. Seth Green scene at the end. Inside jokes are the best.

I liked the Star Wars Robot Chicken, even though I had seen some of the sketches.

That part when they was trying to move that couch while being shot at was funny.
The only thing I really didn't like in the FG SW was when Herbert/Obi-Wan Kenobi sang "Time Of My Life". It was quite banal and it went on way too long.
The best parts were of course, the actual SW jokes.
"There really should be a railing here."
"Shoot that escape pod! Wait, hold up. The ship says there's no life forms onboard. Let it go."
"That doesn't make any sense! What, are we being charged by the laser now?"
And the whole discussion about the Death Star's weakspot.
Agreed. Everything else was just the regular hit or miss throwaway jokes that FG has exclusively become.
I wish I didn't miss the end of the episode because of the Bears game. Damn retard of a QB.

Did anyone else notice the Evil Monkey and the Alien from American Dad in the cantina?
It was very hit or miss. The direct Star Wars jokes were great. Using the Pedophile as Obi Wan, not so much. They should of had Adam West be Obi, and someone like Peter's dad be Tarkin.

Coach McGuirk from Home Movies was in the Cantina too, which was fucking awesome.
I just saw it thanks to TiVO. I thought it was ok. Not bad, probably will watch again when bored. Nothing great. I personally think their Back to the Future episode was better written. And I must say their musical numbers do drag on too much (im looking at you Tom Brady episode w/the end zone celebration.)
And I personally think this is one of the best star wars sketches/parodies/etc etc ever written:

I still have it stuck in my . . . "OH I'LL HAVE THE TIME OF MY LIFE!!!!" . . . head.

Miss, because it is clearly stated to be an exhaust port, which was completely ignored.

Bender from Futurama also appears in the bar scene.
My favorite part was the Doctor Who/hyperspace joke.

Family Guy kinda sucked last night. The only good parts were the ones with H. Jon Benjamin.
You know what pisses me off? People who bash Family Guy because it is immoral or that it makes parodies of stuff that people did in the past. By the latter I mean that they don't like that their content is getting parodied or referenced and they sue. Carol Burnett sued earlier this year because they used the theme song to her show in an episode and she lost. Now, the owner of the song, "When you Wish Upon a Star", is suing because of Family Guy's spoof "I need a Jew" that was from the episode "When you Wish upon a Weinstein", which aired seven years before the sue. Fuck people like that.
And especially fuck the Parents Television Council too.

Agreed, wholeheartedly.
1. People need to learn to take a joke.
2. Just because it's animated doesn't mean it's made for kids.

Ned Flanders wouldn't protest Family Guy. Flanders is from the old school of morality where you try to teach morality by example instead through self-righteous bullying. Homer is a total asshole to him and you never really see him try and do anything to stop Homer from being an asshole.
