Not musically, but take a look at this:
Overkill's "The Years of Decay" album cover, 1989:

Avenged Sevenfold's "Waking the Fallen:

Both have a skull with wings. It's also common knowledge that a skull with wings has been Overkill's mascot for the last twenty years. Coincidence? Maybe, who knows. Also, Overkill and Avenged Sevenfold just unveiled the covers for their new albums:

Man, where have I seen that before? Oh, right, two seconds ago. Now, I'm putting my feelings about A7X's music aside, and saying that that is one lame-ass cover. I mean, it's THE EXACT SAME COVER! I could have made this cover using MS Paint and the "Invert Colors" button. In fact, I think I will:

Okay, so it's not exactly the same, but it's better than the actual cover. Took me three seconds. By comparison, here's Overkill's cover for their sure-to-be-thrashing "Immortalis":

How fucking metal is that? People will say "But Enshin, that's just the Years of Decay slanted to the side!" To that I say, the art has been revamped in a totally different, and awesomely badass style. Trust me, that ain't the same, and if I was 18, I'd get that tattooed on my chest. Sure, I was going to get my wife's name tattooed instead, but screw her. She'll probably only marry me for my money.
Winner of the Battle of the Album Covers:
The hardest working thrash metal band around, OVERKILL!!!!!!!

Man I feel dumb for not seeing that...and yeah, that's a horrible cover, especially after City of Evil, which I considered on par with the old 80s metal covers...and I am 18, maybe I should get the Overkill cover tattooed on me...actually, I'd use their Under The Influence cover instead

Avenged Sevenfold is fucing terrible. I take time out of my day to tell everyone at school that. I fucking hate our stupid Gym mix CD. If there was some Sadus on there I'd fucking kick ass at kickball. Well, I guess I'd kick ball Laughing

AX7 is pretty good. At the very least, they're better than 99% of the other bands that started getting mainstream radio play over the last three years.

I think ya mean, "Elimination", Syd.
That, and "Hammerhead" is always good.

Yes it is, but its half as amazing as "Coma."

You want yourself some Overkill? Get Taking Over or Horrorscope (which has the aforementioned "Coma." Incidentally, the album with "Hello From The Gutter," Under The Influence is Overkill's weakest album. Years Of Decay which has "Elimination" is a little better, but I prefer the other two I just mentioned.

There are a lot of what if's in life Donny. What if I hit you really hard in the face, knocked yo shit to the back of yo skull? What if I....had you girl gargle my nuts? The fact remains, you are a fuckin mutant.
