Fucking August 10th. I dont know if I've ever been so phyched for something. I remember my friend brought over Rush Hour 2 back in like 2002 and we watched it and I laughed my ass off. August 10th is the day !
Who else likes Hour hour?

I liked the first two movies... dunno if I'll enjoy the 3rd.
Early rumors had been that Jean-Claude Van Damme was going to be the villain, and if that had been true, the film would have easily grabbed my money. Now, I don't know. It looks okay, but I fucking hate Brett Ratner for what he did to X3.

Eh. I liked them when they first came out. But now watching them again, they just dont do anything for me. It's an overdone formula w/the buddy cop system and the 'fish out of water' situation.
After better comedians have showcased what they can do (i.e. Chappelle) it just doesnt really get me excited to watch part 3.
Granted, being a movie whore I am still gonna watch it. Just not looking forward to it as I was for part two.

For what? Making it exactly how Bryan Singer would've?
I HATE Rush Hour I, but I LOVE Rush Hour II. I'm extremely psyched for "Rush Hour III". In fact, it's the movie I most want to see right now. I'm also a HUGE Jackie Chan fan, so any Jackie is good Jackie in my book... That's a lie, cause I paid to see "The Tuxedo" and "The Medallion" and those were terrible... But "Around the World in 80 Days" was better, plus SAMMO HUNG!
I'd also like to pimp Jackie's rival, Jet Li's new film War that's finally getting a US release.

At the very least, Singer wouldn't have killed off Cyclops, because Cyclops wouldn't have left to take a shitty role in a Superman movie.

Rush Hour was OK, but half of it was Chris Tucker being an asshole. I love Rush Hour 2, though. It kicks ass.

And Tucker's gained some weight...
I also rewatched Shanghai Knights again tonight... That killed some excitement, but Ratner is able to deliver punches where this director shyed away from. Ratner's one of the few non-traditional martial arts directors who can actually pull them off.

Alright, I'm only returning to this conversation because I just rewatched X-Men tonight and I am absolutely certain X3 would've sucked just the same with Singer at the helm. AND Cyclops would've been just the same miserable cameo character he is now. Hayter shit on the Cyclops just as much with the first two films. Of course, they were going to kill him off in 3! I'm starting to think Singer really hates Marsden, because of the shitty Superman role too. Good God, I wish they'd reboot the X-Men series in the "not too distant future".
On the thread's topic, I still haven't seen "Rush Hour 3" but I should be going later this week. I did see several middle aged women coming out of its theater though. I hope they were moms, or else I had no idea Chan and Tucker had such a diverse audience.

It was like they found an unproduced Abbott and Costello script and decided to turn it into a "Rush Hour" film! A different sort of humor this time around, with a few undeveloped action sequences, and the film sort of vibing "Lethal Weapon 3". All-in-all I still enjoyed the hell out of it.

Bleh, I saw this w/Superbad and Hot Rod and I would have to say this was the weakest of the three. By far!!

I saw it. Funniest out of the 3 movies, but not the best one (that still goes to 2). They treated it more like a comedy than an action movie, which I didn't like.

So the "Beverly Hills Cop III" effect? Hm, I'm detecting a pattern here.

Beverly Hills Cop III was actually missing TWO of the main characters who had appeared in the first two movies. It lacked Detective Taggart (John Ashton) and Captain Bogomil (Ronny "Vilos Cohaagen" Cox). Also Bronson Pinchot (Balki) appeared in the first and third movies but not the second.
Paul Reiser also appeared in BHC 1 & 2 but not 3.
