anybody ever played the game Clock Tower for the snes? It was a point and click (kinda) horror game. I never thought any 16-bit game could scare the crap out of me , but the japanese have proved me wrong

My Fiance has been playing Clock Tower 3 on the PS2, lately. That game is pretty messed up.

I remember renting the game for PS1. It certainly was weird. I remember the game consisted of picking a hiding spot when the murderer was coming near, and hoping he couldn't find you. Usually he did find you, and used his big hedge clippers on you.

I've been a long time fan of the Clock Tower series. Scissorman is AWESOME!
While Clock Tower 3 was entertaining, you can't beat the awesomeness of "First Fear" and the PS version. Dan Barrows will get you!!!

Why do girls love Clock Tower?? Mine just played through all of them this summer.
The SNES one is pretty creepy.

I love love LOVE that game!
Allysssaaaa.... where are you?.......
I also loved the one on PSX, although it was horrible to play on a controller. I haven't gotten much of a chance to play the SNES one, as I can't find the English patched version.

In my day we played it BEFORE there was a patch! That takes me back to the wonderfully days at the Gamefaqs boards. I remember when we discovered the coveted "S" ending where you could SAVE one of your friends. That really had our group bustling for awhile. Wow, that was like 7 years ago... Seriously though, be thankful an English patch exists, cause I had no idea what that game was about when I first played it. Of course, the patch did little to explain anything except a couple of the endings and Jennifer's father in the "secret room".

Inspired by your comments, I went to play the game on ZSNES. And I'm totally hooked. I haven't found my way through all of the endings yet, but the game is a real masterpiece. A game with the proper load of myths, uncertainness ("what is the rope used for?") , dynamic content (rooms and keys swapping places), and unimaginable number of small decisions which alters the endings. Wow, 9 endings, at least! + plus the DEAD END(s)...
Scissorman is sick, and walking in the constant fear of being discovered is just incredible.
This is the game in which I sense the same kind of "magic" I've seen in Prince of Persia when I was ~6 years old. Call me silly but that is a compliment
Oh, and it also reminds me a bit of Another World, the game out of this world
Anyway, thanks for waking up the memories...

You know, this reminds me, I never did beat "Ghost Head". Game just wasn't that good and the graphics were terrible. But the villains had good ideas behind them.
Ghost Head is the "Clock Tower 2" for PS - Technically "Clock Tower 3":
Clock Tower: First Fear - SNES, later remade for the PS in Japan.
Clock Tower - PS
Clock Tower 2: The Struggle Within (aka Ghost Head) - PS
Clock Tower 3 - PS2

I believe the rules state: This board is not for requesting links to ROMs.

Yeah. Now posting links on the other hand, that's just fine.

I was merely giving links because i thought people would want them, not because of a request.
also, coolrom was the first rom site that popped into my head. What's wrong with coolrom?

Romlinks are SEVERELY discouraged because they get cached in search engines and then some loser noob does a ROM search on Google, ends up here, and starts spamming the VG board with all his dumbass ROM requests.
My feeling on the issue is that:
1. You should be able to find ROMs on your own. It isn't hard.
2. If you CAN'T find ROMs on your own, PM someone such as myself, JEW, or Murdar Machene and we will direct you to ROMs.
However, I no problem with people posting links to emulators or translation patches. Good translation patches can be hard to find, and some who's just getting into emulation might not know what emulators are good. There are DOZENS of NES emulators out there and a lot of them are shit.

I"m pretty n00bish at emulators. I have NESten for my NES roms, but is there a better one out there? And I have Zsnesw151 for the SNES. I have a GEN32 on my other PC in the living room. I dont know if those are decent or not since I havent downloaded any others.

I love Snes9x for all my RPG Snes madness, and I particularly like JNes and Nester for my Nes needs, but other people have different preferences.
