Saw it last night, it was kind of a letdown. The movie was funny enough, but some of the best jokes are given away in the trailer. The movie also jumps around a little too much... The movie is only 90 minutes long, which is standard movie length, but it feels short. Not enough attention is given to Randy's story, Agent Rodriguez's backstory, Karl Wolfschtagg, the tournament, Feng, or anything really. It seems like everything could have, and should have been expanded upon.

That being said, it's still pretty funny. It's not as funny as it should have been, considering it's written by two of the guys who gave us such kickass TV shows as Reno 911, Viva Variety, The State, and You Wrote It, You Watch It, but it's funny nonetheless. Christopher Walken, James Hong, and Thomas Lennon are all awesome in pretty much every scene they're in. Dan Fogler is very good as well, and Maggie Q is pretty hot.

Man. Martial arts tournaments are a favorite of mine, and ripe for the comedy picking. Nothing is worse than a good idea poorly executed. A new, better pastiche is required.

I propose "Marital Arts" (no pun intended), the new martial arts movie requiring that engaged experts survive the deadly island gauntlet and ruthless opponents to tie the knot before the self-destruct sequence activates the volcano.

They do give most of the funny stuff in the trailer. I was surprised when I saw Deidrich Bader in there. I also hated that Terry Crews got killed early in the tournament.

Diedrach Bader was fucking awesome in his few scenes, especially since I wasn't expecting to see him. I was disappointed that Masi Oka's role in the film was shown in its entirety in the trailer. Cameos only work when you don't see them coming.

Also if you are a Terry Crews fan, you should watch Idiocracy.
