I've been watching alot of WWE 24/7 On Demand lately, watching classic matches and PPVs, and it got me thinking about how many wrestlers in the 80s and 90s who should have had a run with the title, but never got the chance, due to it being the Hogan/Macho Man/Ultimate Warrior years. When one of those people always had the belt.
Here's a list of who should of had a title run. (Even, if just for a month or two.)
"Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase
"Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig
"Ravishing" Rick Rude
Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat
Jake "The Snake" Roberts
Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
Dynamite Kid
The British Bulldog
Anybody else I am forgetting?

DiBiase did technically and briefly have the belt, but then Jack Tunney ruled the title vacant.
Ricky Steamboat was treated like shit by the WWF. They took a guy who had been HUGE in the NWA and gave him that ridiculous Dragon gimmick. And Steamboat did hold the NWA title, which is arguably more prestigious.
Piper definitely deserved the belt. Kane deserved to hold it for more than one day. I dunno if Adam Bomb deserved the WWF belt, but Wrath definitely deserved the WCW belt. RVD deserved a real title run.
Oh, and Scott Fucking Hall.
And Cena needs to turn heel again. He got over as a heel, and he was way better as a heel.

Well, if you want to talk post-1992 wrestlers, then Scott Hall (Agreeing with Syd), Owen Hart, and Ken Shamrock should of had the belt as well.

True, but he did hold the Tag Titles with Tito Santana has "Strike Force". So, he got a little gold.

Indeed. "Girls In Cars", the Strike Force theme, is on my playlist.

The only Wrestling entrance theme I have in my playlist at the moment is Drowning Pool's Forcable Entry version of "The Game." Which, I accually prefer to Motorhead's version.

The only other wrestling-related song I currently have on my playlist is the Bag of Hammers song "Hulk Hogan On Crack", which is most excellent. I occasionally rotate stuff from the Hulk Rules CD onto it as well.
