Twin Peaks is just as good. It's a totally different sort of show though.

Well, right. But think of Cattivo, dammit! Imagine how his eyes will light up when he sees that someone has replied to his topic. He'll open it with wild anticipation hoping to see a reply from another Twin Peaks fan, but no! It's you, already deviating from the proposed topic of "Twin Peaks Season Two DVD". And then the disappointment will make him weep 10,000 tears. How could you be so mean to poor Cattivo? HOW COULD YOU!?

Valdronius put a gun to my head and made me do it. He said it'd be funny. He wasn't thinking of Cattivo. If you want this sort of behaviour to stop, vote for me over Valdronius tomorrow.

I really don't know who to vote for between you and Valdronius. Whoever wins, there'll still be unnecessary U's inserted into words.

Hmm, I thought I would get a comment about the pic of David Duchovny in drag instead.

As soon as I finish masturbating to it, I'll post one.

That's David Duchovny in drag? I just assumed it was a young Kathy Baker.

Remind me to somehow put my 13 minute "Twin Peaks" music video to Manson's "Wrapped in Plastic" online...
I'm incredibly psyched that season 2 of Twin Peaks after YEARS of waiting is finally getting released IN ONE VOLUME!!! Not two like those wanking Brits!
But where the hell is the restored Fire Walk With Me deleted scenes!? Hell will not freeze over until they are released...

I was surprised about the one volume thing too. I expect companies to try to screw over the consumer money-wise for dvds. Paramount does it so often with Trek, that it's become the standard with niche audiences.
I figure Lynch burned the deleted scenes out of anger, that's why they haven't released an expanded dvd of the movie. I am thankful the bare-bones one was even released though, considering Lost Highway isn't on dvd yet. (Outside of Canada's pan and scan version).

They exist. The problem is that the French company that wants to release them doesn't want to pay to restore and score them, which is the only way Lynch wants those scenes shown.
Although, according to "FWWM: Fight for Deleted Scenes" MySpace page, the scenes will finally be released (in France anyway) by the end of the year... though people are still skeptical.

It has come to my attention that season one is out of print!
Shameful.

I stopped by Target today and used a gift card I had from my birthday last week to get the set at a cost of only $12.59 to me (the card was for $30).
It certainly feels great to have it in my possession after all this time....So, does anyone want to be some old VHS tapes of Twin Peaks by any chance?
While I don't have the time to watch the episodes yet because I'm trying to finish up my Master's Essay, I'll take a look at the extras tonight after dinner.
Edit:
While the extras aren't as voluminous as the first season's, I certainly enjoyed all of the interviews. Todd Holland's interview was interesting, as he mentioned how its serial nature allowed things like Lost to come to TV. Although, I would have also mentioned Babylon 5 and 24. It was cool of David Duchovny to give an interview for the dvd set; I just wish the actor who played Ben Horne did one as well, like he did for the 1st season's set.

The only tapes I have were the ones I made off Bravo and I missed the season two premiere.
I only had two problems with the second season. The first was Lynch left to do "Wild at Heart" (no regrets there) and he apparently didn't tell anyone what was going on in the show. When he came back for the end of the season, you could tell Lynch was picking up from the world from the first. So the period where Lynch was MIA, I think suffers only because I don't think Mark Frost knew what Lynch was intending to do, so he had the show follow conventional prime time drama rules.
My second problem evolves from that first point and centers around a story arc that no show I have seen has EVER been able to do well: A young man having an affair with an older married woman. The only movie to even do that storyline justice was "The Graduate". Since then, there's been all sorts of shows trying to pull it off. Why "Twin Peaks" thought they could do it, I'll never know. It feels like the show ran out of things for James Hurley to do and just sent him out of "Twin Peaks". That was another major problem; a show called "Twin Peaks" should NOT focus on a plotline out of the town, especially when that story would feel more at home on "Dynasty" or "Dallas". This arc was the only story I felt strongly hurt the second season. I'm fine with Annie, I'm fine with Windom Earle, I'm fine with the end of One Eyed Jacks, but not this misadventure.
Other than those two things, I actually liked the second season more than the first. Stories felt like they moved faster and the mythology really grew. Alas, by the time the show got its act together again, the ratings bombed and ABC threw away one of the best shows they ever had. A mistake I hope they won't make again.

For me the middle of the season really dragged - mostly because of that God-awful James storyline that you mentioned (and Lynch being gone). I enjoyed Windom Earle, but I hated Annie. Boringly drab character. They should have had Audrey continue her bond with Cooper in that respect. It would have made more sense....Which reminds me, I hated how they hooked Audrey up with a random guest character played by Billy Zane.

Agreed... Except, I would never forgive Cooper if he hooked up with Audrey. One of the reasons, I respect and admire him so much was his scene at the start of episode six of season one.

Man, "Twin Peaks" is like a drug to me.
I'm seriously in love with this show all over again. I want to take notes and I've already seen all 30 episodes and the film! Why the hell is this story still not concluded!?
My thoughts on the DVD: I like that they kept the Log Lady intros and interviews with the directors, but there's a whole lot less extras than on season one. Gone are the deleted scene notes, commertary, and featurettes. There's not even a feature about the last episode and Mark Frost's plan for season three (some of which has been leaked over the years). Presentation, fantastic picture, audio is kinda of rustic, but definitely better than broadcast standards.
