Medical experts are warning that people listening to their Coldplay collection on an Ipod during a thunderstorm are more likely to be struck by lightning.

While some might consider this a warning that god might be taking the opportunity to strike back at the upstart Apple religion, apparently it is a serious problem.

A jogger in Canada suffered wishbone-shaped chest and neck burns, ruptured eardrums and a broken jaw when lightning travelled through his music player's wires. A teen in Colorado, who was listening to Metallica on his iPod, while mowing the lawn suffered similar injuries.

Apparently the danger to iPod users is because the lightning is looking for metal objects in the area around where it strikes. It loves sending current down the headphone wires and tickling the eardrums with several million volts.

Could also have to do with the fact that 100,000,000 (that's one hundred million) iPods have been sold worldwide... everyone and their grandmother have one!

Or maybe it's because Coldplay & Metallica suck and god wants to make sure people know that this bad taste in music will not be tolerated. |

				GOD HATES I-PODS!
GOD HATES I-PODS!
 HE F-IN' HATES I-PODS!

Mediocre song, but it's the first thing I thought of when I read this thread. Thank God that I don't have an Ipod...
Maybe the Metallica guy was listening to 'Ride the Lightning'. In which case, God was clearly showing he appreciated the man's taste in 80's thrash metal, then sent him a music reference in the form of lightning.

 That must be it.

I think that's been discussed before though.

Hey, he lived. So, a better reference would be the lightning couldn't "Seek and Destroy". Someone will probably say the lightning had "No Remorse", but whatever.

Was that a song reference, too?

And in all honesty, I'd love to have an IPOD, because of the sheer amount of songs/albums I own. My 1000-song mp3 player's filled, and I just bought Motorhead's "Ace of Spades" and Children of Bodom's "Follow the Reaper" albums, and have nowhere to put them. And my CD player is out of batteries...dagnab...

i have a 4 gb ipod to put all my favorites on. i dont see why anyone would need more than 1000 songs. where are you going to be where you'll have enough time to listen to those? my ipod's battery doesnt even last the whole shuffle period.

15 hour plane ride to Japan, and a 14 hour ride to Switzerland, both like me. That's when that 40GB iPod really comes in handy.

Lightning strikes at metal wire made to conduct electricity?

This spurious logic would have god absolutely furious at metal poles stuck on the tops of houses, and would indicate a most ancient of vendettas against trees.

A Greek play noted that Zeus was just as willing to strike his own temples with lightning as any other tall object.

Wow, I'm a spoilsport . Ummmm...

God hates people with I-pods, but is more subtle and intends to punish by way of the soon-to-be-revealed tendency of I-pods to cause a particularly harmful near-maelevolent form of brain cancer?

Tornados are made by the Flash, and sometimes Superman, when either one of them decides to spin around really fast with their SUPER SPEED. This is done because they-

a. Hate hicks.

2. Like spinning around really fast.

Superman caused tornados can be prevented by acquiring a piece of kryptonite from Lex Luthor's pre-crisis stockpile, which can be found orbiting earth like a radioactive moon.

Flash tornados can be stopped by putting down tripwires, which really fuck him up bad.
