I'm looking for an animation program that will let me rip frames from AVIs and then overlay text over the frame animation. My sister swears by Jasc Animation Studio, but Jasc is gay and won't let you overlay text over every frame at once.
Oh. Yeah, After effects will let you do all the overlay, and then let you export the AVI as a series of PNG images. You'll need something else, like GIMP, to compile it into an animation.

My friend Arion just bought the Adobe CS3 Master Suite. He hasn't been able to install it yet, but it seems really badass. It has a lot of programs, though I'm disappointed that Adobe Audition isn't in the bundle.

My sister has to use Adobe CS3 Design Premium for the program she's in - graphics or something - and it's on helluva bundle! I can only imagine that for the $500 more Master Suite would be fucking amazing.
