Now don’t take that header the wrong way. I didn’t mean that Nintendo finally got off their collective ass and started localizing the game, I’m talking about the Mother3.org homepage. Which states:

"What’s about to happen in the Mother community is for the best. As you all hopefully know, there is a dedicated group over at Starmen.Net’s Do-it-Yourself Devotion Project currently translating Mother 3, like we are. That would mean that there’s two simultaneous projects happening for the same cause: to bring Mother 3 to the English-speaking fans.
Then, what’s the point of having two separate projects doing the same thing? We just want the game to be enjoyed by everyone. There’s no need to have two separate projects for the same cause. |
Does this mean that a translated Mother 3 is coming our way quicker than we intended? Will Nintendo take notice? The answer to those questions is: probably not. Nintendo has announced their distaste of localizing it because of horrible Earthbound (Mother 2) sales. Although I do that this fan translation is “in progress”, but, as they tend to be, it won’t be completed until… who knows when. Plus, throw in the fact that if NOA says that they’ll be translating it, the Mother 3 English Patch will be scrapped. Maybe this game will never see the light of day in America.
