AllofMp3.com, has been shuttered for good by the Russian government.
AllofMp3, which operated out of the land of vodka and toilet paper lines, offered new and old Mp3s for download at a fraction of the cost of other online music retailers. The site, which has had a troubled lifetime courtesy of the RIAA and the US Government, has been shut down before, always to reemerge.
However, this time pressure from the World Trade Organization was just too much. Russia wanted in, but the WTO said not as long as AllofMp3 is still running. Faced with this choice, the Kremlin shut her down.
The US Government claims that AllofMp3 was stealing money from American artists. Hey, it's probably better than stealing money from our pockets. Yeah, that's right, we're looking at you iTunes.
