Watching Die Hard 4 has reminded me how much I love Patriotic films. Here's five I love off the top of my head:

Superman IV: The Quest For Peace (fav USA moment: The first thing Superman does after bursting out of the moon is shove the American flag back into the ground.)
Armageddon
Air Force One (fav USA moment: "I'm counting on you red, white, and blue.")
The Patriot
Rocky IV
Rambo: First Blood Part II (would've been five if it weren't so anti-American government at the same time)

Canadians, I want to see your lists! Smile

Let us not forget Independence Day as well. President Bill Pullman FTW.

Team America was surprisingly patriotic as well.

And there's the opening scene in Follow That Bird where Oscar sings the national anthem in front of the American flag. That was patriotic... sorta.

By that token, then The Deer Hunter was patriotic, because the surviving friends at the end started singing God Bless America.

And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: "We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight!" We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!

There aren't any patriotic Canadian films. Unless you count the Heritage Minutes, which I do.

And for those of you Americans Confused who aren't familiar with the Canadian Heritage Minutes, here are a few of my favorites:
(orphans)

("members of the weaker sex")

(super hero)

Canadians don't need films to show they are patriotic. Last time I was up north, there were giant red maple leaves on almost every product for sale. My friends even were laughing becasue we found bottles of beer that said "I AM CANADIAN!" written on them in giant letters.

They are damn proud to be Canadians, and have more patriotism then the US by far.

i never cared for the patriot... it was cliche and predictable...

lie free or die hard was pretty terrible too... i did like kevin smith's cameo... although cheesy it was kind of cool...

now... you didnt say which country you had to be patriotic for... so w/that note... im gonna say i like HERO as an awesome patriotic movie... although it is for china... whatev...

and i also like and starring as himself... pancho villa... that was a decent movie...

and i agree... team america was remarkably patriotic....

Just reading the title of this topic made me instantly think of Independence Day. And that reminds me that it has been waaaaaaaay to long since I last saw that movie.

I just watched "Clear And Present Danger" again today. That's a pretty patriotic movie. Jack Ryan is just way too honest, and a good old american boy.
