Chrisophe Gans, the man who is responsible for the big-screen adaptation of Silent Hill, will be behind the lens when shooting begins on Onimusha, the film based on the Japanese game franchise that pits samurai vs. demons in a fight to the death.
Takeshi Kaneshiro, the actor on whom the lead character in Onimusha is modeled, will, in fact, be playing the lead in the film, so that's nice. Also, Gans will be taking his time with the $70 million project, which means that it won't be hitting the theaters until 2009.
