In an effort to steal the opening weekend box office record back from Spider-Man 3, Disney has moved up the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End...by a couple hours. Yes, now you will be able to catch the movie at special showings that begin at 8pm on Thursday the 24th, as opposed to the release date of the 25th.

Now, call us sticklers for detail, but if you add an extra day to the premiere weekend, then isn't it cheating a little if it does end up beating Spider-Man 3's box office returns? The movie's bound to be a juggernaut anyway, so this is clearly just a little posturing to attempt to get that record back. Naughty, naughty.
