Dirk the Daring may yet slay a dragon and rescue a damsel in distress on a screen bigger than an arcade cabinet (or HDTV).
One of the bonus features on the recent Blu-ray release of the 1983 arcade classic, Dragon's Lair is an interview with the game’s creator, Don Bluth wherein he and producers "mention that not only do they have a completed script, but also that they've taken a few meetings in recent months."
If the movie comes to fruition the producers hope to make it a 2D animated epic and not go the increasingly more common CGI route.
"Life is a waste of time. Time is a waste of life. Get wasted all the time, and you'll have the time of your life!"

Sweet!
It better have a couple of points where the movie stops, and then a voice-over says that dirk can do one of three things, and says what they are. Then you have to guess which one he should do. Then it shows the outcome of the three actions, in which two of them kill him. You know, just like the cartoon series.
