How's everyone been? I know this should probably go under the projects section, but I know I myself barely check that and I would like to get the vast majority here to help me out.
I'm currently deciding on a store name, I currently have the name Gamers Anonymous, and I really like it. Does anyone else have a name suggestion. My friends are trying to get me to go with a new one, but when I say well what would you call it? They same something like The Game Room, or Game Zone, which to me sound like little thrift game shops with no potential.
If you have a suggestion or if you have an opinion on the current names in the hat let me know. I've been really busy designing a store set up and theme and I need a concrete name to really get into it.

I'm kinda worried that Mommy or Daddy will hear about your store in a directory, thinking they'd like to get Little Timmy off of "WoWQuest" and be dissapointed. I know that there are gaming detox places out there, Ben Stein had to get his son into it because of EQ (long before WoW came out heh).
That being said, I agree with you on those two other name choices. Hmm:
PlayChoice Alpha
Game Around
Wiistation Base 360

I don't have suggestions cause I'm uncreative, but Gamers Anonymous would obviously have negative connotations in people's minds, particularly parents or grandparents that don't know what the fuck they're trying to find their kids to begin with.

The Digital Dungeon
Or
Free Beer
(The second one might be misleading, but at least it will get customers through the door.)

How about Atawii 360?
It has Atari, the Wii, the Xbox 360, and a connotation of video games coming full circle at your store.
Granted, it sounds like something a 2 year old would say.

I'd say call it Game Haven, but that's already taken by a shitty webcomic.
Game Hut? Gamers Paradise? I don't know, I suck at this.

Well I could still use Game Haven...Kinda catchy. Would be less shitty then the comic too.

It would work but I learned that there is not a large enough market to sell Atari. Theres a lot of people with the games but hardly any buyers. LOL and yes it does, I don;t want to sound like a weirdo when I answer the phone.

A good name would be Watch Impress.
Better than these shit-ass names.
edit: or Game Watch. |
Watch Impress? Game Watch...Could do like...Game & Play or something. I want people to know its a game store. People in this area would definitly come in asking where our watches are if I went with one of those.

Digital Dungeon...the store motif would be ridiculous lol...hmmm...Free Beer would definitly work wonders here.

I understand the original concern with the name, but it's a place for people to get help in all things video games, from information, cash, trade-ins, codes, New Games, Old Games. It's a general "It doesn't matter what kind of gamer you are we will help you get what you want."
Why don't we have a contest...if I use one of your names you can get a permanent 30% off discount. Just pay shipping which would be like $3-$4. *Excludes new games* I think my name is kinda catchy and it's the layout of the store and the advertising that will let people know what we do, but if so many people think the same thing I guess the CoS theory won't work.

lol something unoffensive
agree with you jonny...
Also i'll need another logo, so if I pick a winner and someone else wants a 30% discount make a matching logo.
Just so you know we will sell from Nintendo 8-Bit up to the current stuff. Most expensive XBOX 360 game is 49.99 so you;d get it for $35. Just thought i'd throw that out there.

I might be moving so who knows where it will be located at the present moment. I am in no way saying your name is bad, but I would need something that would cover all things game related. Memory Card and Save point (provided by jonny) have a paticular thing behind them. That and I can't imagine a chain of stores called Memory Card. Maybe something like Game Savers, or something like that. Where do you live, not like street wise but city wise. I'll let you know the probability of opening one there.

The only problem with Memory Card...(it sounds better with "The" in front of it) is that it only relates to systems which use Memory Cards, I want it to be known that all systems are of equal proportion in the store.
I take credit for THE MEMORY CARD, as opposed to Memory Card, so if it wins you get nothing Char...j/k...ish lol

Douche's Gaming Warehouse Emporium?
On a rather less stupid note, I've always felt that something more simplistic works for a store name. For instance, in one of my college classes we have to pretty much make the skeleton for a store. My team just called ourselves "Digital Cross", as we "sell" games, movies, and CDs.
For an idea, might I suggest something along the lines of...well, I don't have any ideas better than those listed. I think Gamers Paradise was pretty good, I would suggest "Gamers Heaven", but with a z instead of an s is the title of a manga, and it may be offensive to people.

That and the Z would be "Homie" friendly...I've gotten a lot of suggestions I'm still waiting for some of the more notorious people to place their opinions before I start a new poll.
