So, I found this awesome 80s Scientology commercial:

There's a few problems with this, but the #1 problem is the fact that there's people of color in the commercial... I'm not being racist... but as someone points out in the comments section in youtube, L. Ron Hubbard was truly racist... he would have NEVER let that video air! (he must have already been dead at the time, so the videos from sometime after 1986... or he was secluded on his "crazy boat" and didn't watch TV)

Good ole Scientology. We will all have peace once the world recognizes that all religions are wrong and we're descended from aliens.

One paper idea I was thinking of doing was Tolkien vs. Hubbard. Both men created "mythologies" they wanted the world to embrace and each were successful. Except that Tolkien is recognized and respected by the literary community while Hubbard is trashed by pretty much everyone who doesn't have scientology card. Obviously, the reason for this is that Tolkien didn't create a "church" that would treat his books as reality and screw people over with a gigantic pyramid scheme.

BTW, the world will officially end when my spell check does not recognize "scientology" as a typo.

From what I understand, Tolkien never would have wanted his own church. LOTR, much like Narnia, has some very intentional Christian overtones.

But it's far from being an allegory. And his religion seems little contradictory to his own Roman Catholicism. But, who's to say he believed it? But did Hubbard actually believe his own BS?

Elves... Xenu... Who created us humans!?

Scientology. Damn it, my spell check recognizes it and it's not because I added it. I feel like my body's being exhausted in favor of the new matrix. No... Genesis....

Hubbard always said that if you want to make money, you should start a religion.

I can only assume Xenu compelled him to say that, to discredit the religion and keep people from achieving their latent godhood through such techniques as yelling at glasses of water.

Why has no one told me about Ummo!?

Edit: Off topic, but the hell another wacky alien belief is going to get another thread on my watch.
