It is measured in your efficency in capturing the blocks. Gotcha! ^^
I was just playing IQ yesterday, after not playing it since around 1998, and this game is really addicting and fun. It's a damn shame this game went unnoticed in America at the time of it's release (September 1997.) It now sells on eBay for around $70 bucks.
Also, this game has an ORGASMIC orchestral soundtrack, when puzzle games like Tetris and Puyo Puyo had "bouncy, feel-good" music. (Tebor, you will like the music.)
As you can see by the screenshots, it's a pretty dark and lonely game, I like the feel, but it can never surpass Metroid in that aspect.
The game is simple, but it's damn hard to explain, so learn by example.
Oh and, also,
Your IQ really has no real-life value It's just how cool or sucky you were in the game.
...There were 3 more games in the series, IQ Final (which was only released in Japan, and in Europe as Kurushi Final) and IQ Remix, which replaced the orchestral music with funky hip-hop beats, and IQ Remix+, a launch title for the PS2.
(Oh, and I should mention that even though I didn't demo 2 players, it's pretty intense in multiplayer.)...But, the point is, This game is one is one the most underrated game ever released on the PlayStation, and y'all should definitely "grab" it, if you know what I mean.
Now, excuse me while I play some more IQ.
An another note, did anyone have any memories of this?
