This has been briefly discussed in a few other threads, but damned if I can find where. I picked this up the other day, what a great game. The big complaint about the game is that it's tedious until you start leveling up, and that's absolutely true. But once you get past the first set of prologue challenges and into the first level, it's great. The only other mild complaint I have thus far is that the storyline is incredibly corny, but hey, it's a platformer.

A 3d sonic game that doesn't suck? I MUST BE DREAMING.

The thing I dislike about the direction sonic has taken is that it turned from a "run fast and explore things" game to a "RACE GAME" mentality. What's this starting line stuff all about? Why the 3 2 1 countdown shit? Sure, you CAN go fast, but half the fun of sonic games was exploring the levels, not just blazing through them.

I dunno though. As far as fast paced sonic games go, this one seemed like a good enough offering.

While there's not a lot of exploring persay, there are alternate/hidden paths in some levels as well as those damn Fire Souls you have to find.

My main complaint has been whizzing past something and then spending like 2 minutes to back up just right to whatever, like that damn dinosaur eggs mission in Dino Jungle.

Corny story, eh?

Part of me wants to ask how the mythology grows... but I think I stopped caring about the games continuity around Sonic Adventure.

The game doesn't follow the regular mythology. It involves Sonic going into a copy of Arabian Nights to save the characters therein from a powerful Djinn who's erasing all the pages so that he can escape from the book. Along the way you meet classic Arabian Nights characters such as King Shahryar and Ali Baba who look suspiciously like Dr. Eggman and Tails.

So far, no sign of NiGHTS.

And the Genie is of course played by Robin Williams.

Nice to know the Wii one is good. I ordered the 360 one, hopefully it isn't as terrible as people say.

Sorry Phre, but it was a real rush-job, stuff like doing loops around water and hitting one of the boosting panels sends you hurtling into the water and dying.

I played the 360 one. Fucking horrible. It's the bad movement of Sonic Heroes x100000.

I think I may have mentioned this before, but the main reason I hated the game was due to the load times, and the frequency of load times. You could be walking around on the map and talk to someone to find this:

Guy: "Hey! Find my dog!"

-30 seconds of loading-

Title of mission: "Find that guy's dog!"

-30 seconds of loading-

Guy: "Please find my dog!"

-Take 10 seconds out of your time to find dog.-

-30 seconds of loading-

Guy: "Thanks!"

-30 seconds of loading-

So you just wasted 2 minutes of load time for a 10 second quest. Hooray. I actually didn't mind the controls, as I expected them to be unresponsive and crappy, but the load times were the real killer.

I believe all three Lexias enjoyed it as well. Kris and I definitely did, can't remember if Jeebus liked it.

I liked it, some of the music was cool, but the PS2 and PC versions are terrible. Xbox and GCN are the good ones, specially Xbox cus of 480p.

Once again SydLexia.com logic proves: The majority of the world liked "Sonic Heroes".

I'd like to thank ChildrenofSlayer for proving the theory that makes this fact possible.

It's already been said, but I actually liked Sonic Heroes. Aside from Sonic and pals saying the phrase "Sonic Heroes" about 20 times during the game (over-exaggeration, I know), the game wasn't too shabby. I really liked the members of Chaotix being in there, although I wish they would have replaced Vector with Mighty (even though Mighty is only shown as being strong in the comics).
