You ever seen a joke on a show and wished they had done it better? This thread is about that. Here are a few that bug me:

1. There's that episode where of Futurama where the shapeshifter pretends to be a Cyclops named Al and gets Leela to be his wife/slave. Why the fuck didn't they get Ed O'Neil to voice the Al character? It would have been ten times funnier if they had.

2. The episode of Family Guy where Peter tries to give Quagmire the Statue of Liberty's foot to convince him not to get married. Later on, Mayor West is show yelling "You maniacs! You blew it up!" and then it cuts to a shot of the foot because our attention spans are obviously too short to possibly know why he said it. I hate how they actually show the foot. I get the Planet of the Apes reference, thank you. I don't need to the fucking joke explained to me, Mr. McFarlane, you fucking douchebag.

Well, to be fair Syd, most of Family Guy's audience isn't as smart as you or me and a lot of them are probably younger too and may not have seen Planet of the Apes (unless it was that crappy remake which I don't even think has that scene, does it?) If we're gonna call cartoon writers fucking douchebags, I say we reserve that for those fucking douchebags, Tim and Eric.

More on topic though, Robot Chicken's writers need someone to tell them when to stop. Lots of times they'll get a perfectly good joke, carry it out well and then instead of ending it logically, they drag it out further with progressively weaker punchlines.

The Calvin and Hobbes crack was funny up until Hobbes "came back" and Calvin killed his parents. However, Mario and Luigi go to Vice City was fucking hilarious.

I caught that clip on YouTube the other day and forced some C&H fans to watch it. They seemed entertained through out, but what got the biggest reaction each time was the final shot in the sanitarium.

As jokes go, the subplot on the Simpsons where Bart thinks the adults are reverse vampires went nowhere and has been bugging me for years. Mostly because the last scene with Bart had nothing to do with it.
