Now I want to play it on my keyboard, but I have the Fiend boss battle music from FFIV stuck in my head for the 4th or 5th day (not that I mind).
In other news, I semi-agree on that. I think they're probably still getting used to the console's new feature themselves as it's pretty much a whole new world of gaming. As for the VC, it seems like they should be releasing better games at a faster rate. Maybe they have to do testing to make sure everything is emulated properly? I'd check on any of my thoughts, but I don't have ti-... I'm lazy. I think it's pretty cool now as it is and am definitely looking forward to the future of better games for both the Wii and VC.
EDIT: I don't get this was moved here as the main part of my statement was relevant to the topic at hand of the other thread. At least delete the lesser part due to irrelevance or something, but don't move the whole post when the main portion is obviously part of the main topic.

I love the music in Cave Story, it's quality. Funny to think it was all made by one guy.

Of course! Nobuo Uematsu is a master and is definitely my favorite modern day composer. Some of my favorite game sounds track are Square-related. When I did played FFX a bit, I wondered why the music didn't have that bite to it, then I learned that he didn't compose the music for it. If you haven't heard The Black Mages, you should. It's Nobuo's band doing FF music (and some other stuff) in a progressive metal format.

Ah, fuck, you're right. He also did XI too, which I didn't think he did. I wonder if maybe he toned down his usual style due to the much different gameplay and increased playtime on it.
Even though I'm not particularly fond of FFX, I should get it and play through just to be done with it.

Sonic DS, and others I can't think of right now..
edit: Uematsu's music rules, all the way back from 1987 with Tobidase Daisakusen (3d WorldRunner) and JJ (what I call Tobidase Daisakusen featuring Solid Snake), it's sequel, plays in my head sometimes. It's catchy.

I've been working on one.
What we really need is a GBA emulator with netplay so we can play some Advance Wars against each other.

Oh, oh, wrong. Yasunori Mitsuda composed most of the Chrono Trigger soundtrack. Uematsu came in and finished up a handfull of songs when Mitsuda fell too sick to finish it up himself.

Kenchiro Fukui writes the arranges for The Black Mages (he also wrote and composed the Einhander OST), Uematsu is pretty much just their synth and organ player. Also, Uematsu did write a few songs for FFX. I'm pretty sure he wrote "Zanarkand", but I don't know what else. Either way, FFX is still terrible.

WRONG! Naoshi Mizuta, and Kumi Tamioka did most of the FFXI soundtrack. Nobuo Uematsu only did a few songs for the FFXI OST. Kumi Tanioka also composed the Crystal Chronicles soundtrack. She's incapable of writing a bad song.

Ah, I'm glad about the last one. I just checked Wiki and it listed only Nobuo as the composer, so I was thrown off. I need to get my shit straight.
Anyway, I just learned how to play Golbez' theme, the airship music, and Fiend boss battle music a few days ago, so I've been playing those over and over to lock them down a bit. AGH, it's so much FUN!

Personally I am a big fan of the 80's-tastic rock tracks in Sonic Adventure 2.

A lot of Mega Man music I've noticed throughout the last few years is metal/heavy rock based. I really noticed this the first time I heard the Minibosses and their Mega Man 2 medley. It just fit so well with the guitars. There are a lot of older games that will have that influence, which makes sense. Damn, now I want to play keyboard... but what's new.

I love the Dr. Mario music. I should learn to play some of it. I can already play most of the title screen music.

I should probably be posting more about the VG composers I love, but screw it.
I am required by law to mention Akira Yamaoka though.
