Just coming by to say hi for the first time in years. I was 18 when I joined the forums and I'm 30 now. I always check in and see what everyone's doing, but always had trouble jumping back in. I was devastated to hear about Hacker. On the other end, I was ecstatic to find out that Huff worked on/made Glittermitten Grove and have become a rabid listener of his red pages podcast. I still check on Soldier Hawke and Not_Sure's channels when I can to see what they've been up to.
Just popping in to say I think about you all and I think back on how much fun I had chatting with/playing games with you guys as a 20-something goober.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

Same, my friend. Very much the same.
These days I'm just a glorified janitor, kicking the spam out of the forum (I can't even ban the dang bots), but I still love this place, and all of you <3
I hope things are going well!

Had some problems in my mid-20s, but I'm clean and sober now (I remember I had a few posts here and in the IRC when I was on and I think about how cringey and shitty they were). Had a food truck that was too successful so I had to close it down. Working in a kiln now while I try to fund my new venture, and plan to get my old streaming channel up. I plan to make it cooking-based one day, but I'll have to settle for gaming until I can afford a decent camera.

I'm glad things are looking up, Greg <3
I have to ask though because I can't just leave it hanging...why did you have to close a food truck that was TOO successful?

Greg, good to hear things are moving forward. I can't recall being present for any IRC chats on the subject - so I'm not sure what specifics are at play - but keep up with staying clean and sober. Respect.

I randomly thought of this place tonight and decided to return. I'm glad people still show up.

Guy I was running it with wanted to start a restaurant, and I did the food truck precisely to escape that environment. I'd opened two restaurants before, and they were part of what led me to my habits. When he split off, I ran into problems dealing with ownership of the truck and name, and I was just really tired and couldn't find any reliable help, so I decided to just drop it permanently and then sleep for like six months straight.
I'm currently looking to open up a company making sauces/salsas. I've been working with a friend who has a food science degree and seeing what I can do about packaging/labeling/preservation.

Same as well. I think about SydLexia at least once every few weeks and remember how much fun I have had here over the years. Whether the forums ever recapture their glory doesn't matter... I'll always come back every so often to check in. This was/is one of my first e-homes.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |
