Hello m'dears! I was reflecting on my dinner tonight, realizing that it's the first healthy meal I've made in a very long time, and I thought it would be grand if all of us forum friends exchanged recipes! If you think the idea is lame, that's cool too, but I was thinking we could all share recipes (preferably with images, but that's on you) and then maybe I could compile it all into a PDF or something and we could enjoy something new!

I'll start us off with something delicious that I make regularly:

Pasta Caprese by Kris Lexia
A twist on a traditional caprese salad. Feeds two.

You will need:
around 1 cup grape tomatoes
around 1 cup unseasoned artichoke hearts (I use frozen for this)
fresh basil
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
mozzarella (i prefer cigilienei)
your choice of pasta

1. Begin by putting on a pot of water to boil. If desired, salt the water to taste.
While the water boils, combine olive oil, salt, sugar, and basil leaves in a small bowl.
2. Mix until you have a thick paste. You may add more or less salt or sugar based upon your own preferences.
3. Combine frozen artichoke hearts with the mixture until well coated.
4. Pour the seasoned artichokes into a frying pan on medium heat and add tomatoes, stirring occasionally. When the oil begins to bubble, lower heat to a simmer to prevent burns and splatter.
5. Add pasta to water to boil. When it is cooked to your liking, drain and set aside.
6. Remove tomatoes and artichokes from heat.
7. Set aside two bowls, placing two or three pieces of mozzarella in the bottom of each.
8. Fill each bowl about halfway with pasta, then add two to three more pieces of mozzarella.
9. Fill the remaining space in the bowl with the tomatoes and artichokes. If desired, drizzle additional olive oil over the dish.
10. Enjoy!

After years of bachelor microwave cooking, I finally noticed that stove thing in the kitchen. Many things were burned and many sub par meals were choked down by a polite significant other, but I learned how to cook. So much wasted potential!

I stick to easy stuff like stir fry, curry, lentils, spaghetti, and somehow I still manage to screw up simple bacon and eggs breakfast 50% of the time. @_@

Surprise breakfast in bed doesn't work when the smoke detector alerts my other half to my culinary shenanigans, but she graciously hasn't murdered me, at least yet.

I got one.

COUNT AKULA'S AMAZING COUNT TOASTULA (French Toast):

YOU WILL NEED:

Bread (thick is best, that's what she said lol!)
Butter or margarine
Grandma's Molasses
Vanilla Extract
Ground Cinnamon
Milk (if you drink skim milk, you suck at life)
Eggs
Powdered Sugar

Get a bowl. Crack a few eggs into it and pour in a bit of milk (maybe 1 cup??)
Add a few dashes of Ground Cinnamon. Now add a few (maybe 4) tiny splashes of Vanilla Extract. Whip that shit up until it's all nice and mixed. Have a frying pan sizzlin' with a few teaspoons of butter (low heat so you don't smoke yourself outta the kitchen and fuck up the pan). Dip your bread in the bowl of awesomeness (with the eggs & all that good stuff) until it's fully coated and then drop in frying pan. Fry until cripsy and brown, BUT DON'T BURN!!! Once your bread is all fried up, throw a tiny slice of butter (or margarine) on top and sprinkle on some powdered sugar. Now drizzle on that Grandma's Molasses a little but (shit is wicked strong so be careful!) and get ready for some amazing fuckin' breakfast kid! I guarantee you'll be all like: "MMMMPPHHMMMMM!!!!! HOOOORRRRYYYY FRRRRRKNNN SHHHTTT DISSS ISSS GDDDDDD, MMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!"

Your welcome.
