Hatred looks pure dogshit awful. Everything that's wrong with video games boiled into one shitty attempt at being "edgy".
People have compared it to Postal but there are huge differences. The goal in this game seems to be to just randomly murder civilians, while in Postal, you're fighting military equipped with goofy flame throwers, police armed with over the top firebomb cannons and mountain folk with rocket launchers. It's over the top, cartoony and silly. Controversial for the mid-nineties, sure, but hilarious dialogue keep the whole thing quite tongue in cheek. "Quit shooting, ya bastard! I'm already dead!" or "Has anyone seen my ear?!" Also, aside from bright blood shooting out, there's not even any realistic gore. Certainly no women begging for their lives only to be stabbed to death or shot in the face like in that video. That shit is sadistic and gross.

Am I against it being released? Not really, it's free speech, blah blah blah, but I'll probably judge you if you actually enjoy this kind of bullshit.

This looks exactly like Postal, because in Postal there were morbid quotes and pictures on the loading screens between each level, and innocent people, when attacked, would crawl away begging for their life. Anyway, I plan on buying and playing this game all the way through.

My point was the violence in Postal was cartoony and unrealistic. Hatred is realistic and looks to hold absolutely no humor, like Postal had.

I at least know to who to condescend and laugh at if I ever find anyone that actually plays it.

Oh I'm sorry Deku. Sometimes my mind likes to visit the dark side where I'm known as Darth Cray Cray. I condescend you on behalf of half of the Sydlexian community.

That Hatred game looks like something I would play if I was a 7 year old trying to do things my parents didn't want me to do.

Yeah, if we want to talk about offensive video games, there is a whole subgenre of Japanese rape games.
Also, Harvester. Although, Harvester - like Postal - is largely parody.

Manhunt was very violent and controversial, and it was fucking awesome. It was in the style of a snuff video, you were filmed sneaking around in the dark killing people with shit like plastic bags, shards of glass, nail guns, wire strings, and more.

IIRC, Manhunt 2 was straight up edited for being too violent. But they left the old data in and hackers found a way to insert it back in.

That Hatred game looks about as fun as a game in which you do nothing but shoot peoples' pets and strangle babies.

I agree with @om in that it looks like it's trying too hard to be "extreme". Do I find some of the imagery disturbing? Absolutely, but I also look at it and think, "come on guys, you're trying too hard to shock". I think it would be a really devastating surprise if you could make a game that looks engaging, interesting and fun to play, but then put players through a moral crisis of sorts, where at some point in the game, they realize that what they've been doing is sick and wrong. But to just put out a game whose goal is just too murder, you're just trying to be controversial for the sake of controversial, and that doesn't impress me.

Interesting doesn't equal that he likes it and wants to play it, just that it's interesting. I too find it interesting, in a "wow this is dog shit" kind of way.
