I have 4 desktop computers that play ALL audio formats, and also VIDEO, and GAMES!
Muhahahahaahahahahahaahha!!!!!
.......Oh wait.
I bet you mean "portable" MP3 players.
I had a PSP. That was about the only thing it was good for.

Looks pretty awesome.
My sister has an Ipod but I think they're crap. I don't yet have a portable music player, but I'm definitely going to try to invest in one.
Or ask for one for my birthday. Either way.

My friend has a 4 GB hard drive for his DS. He was showing me Jet Li's last martial arts movie on it.

I have an MP3 CD player, and a CDRW disc.
I'm stickin' with it.

I gotta agree with that one. How cheap is it to upgrade memory space on your iPOD/Zune/etc?
Oh wait you can't....
How much does it cost Sock to upgrade his MP3 player?
About 15 cents per 700Mb.*
Can't argue with that logic.
*If your using CD-Rs, not CD-RW.

I just keep writing over the same CD-RW over and over again. They lie to us about CDRWs. They say you can't write over them more than a few times. Bullshit, I've written over one at least 40 times. And if you don't store them properly or you'll lose your data, also bullshit. I've kept several CDRWs on the windowsill in my weight room for like, over a year now, some of them stay there for weeks before getting put in my CD player.
I do want an iPod shuffle, though. I want something really small and light I can toss in my pocket when I go sled dragging. Shuffles are really made for things like running, and other such forms of cardio. If you get a shuffle for casual listening, you're bad at spending money.

Do you really need more than 80gb of music? I think not!

Let's see a 80Gb iPod = 399.99
-or-
MP3 Capable CD player = $39.99 (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7685686&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat27600050005&id=1134703604749)
100 CD-Rs (70Gb) = $27.29 (http://www.pcclub.com/product_details.cfm?itemno=A0196763)
Total cost = $69.28
Gee, your right, I would be better off paying an extra $330.00 just so I don't have to carry around a cd case with my player.

That's a god damn lie. Burritos are awesome, because they put animals in them. Until I can cram creamy dolphin into a shuffle and down it with some cheap beer, burritos win.
Player: 30GB Zen I bought 3 years ago. It does everything it needs to do, which is play fucking music.

yeah, then you get to carry around a giant stupid CD palyer, that only holds a few hundred songs, that you have to contsntly change when you wnat somethign new, or carry multiple cDs, as opposed to carrying one small, convenient device that holds thousads.
let's not even get started on the matter of using the MP3 player as a portable hard drive...
I have a 30gb ipod video that I'm happy with. I don't like the zune much, but I haven't messed with it alot, and I don't like the zens because of the vertical scrollbar. I got too used to the ipod wheel.

My point is simply that there are some of us who don't see a need, nor can justify paying such a high premium, for slightly better convenience.
Look at the $300 difference in my above post. I mean, for us older folks. (Mid 20's), I remember lugging around "a giant stupid CD palyer" (Which was so huge, it was barely bigger than the CD!) and a CD wallet that held 24 CDs in my backback all through highschool and college and never once did I complain!
...even though I had to walk uphill both ways, in the snow and ice, and all we had to listen to was crappy 90's and prior metal, and we wore onions on our belts 'cuss that was the style at the time, and we liked it! And we........*ZZZZZ*

I dunno dude, carrying around a CD player with a CDRW in it isn't difficult. It can fit in my pocket, it can go on my dashboard. I can't fit it in a can of soda that's been cut in half, though. So the iPod has me beat there.
And I never really 'get tired' of the music in my CD player, because I'm not really focusing on the music when I'm driving, which is where I'd be listening to an iPod the most.
Some people have a better use for $400 than something that will hold more music than they own.

I'm just looking for something to hold music and videos. I forgot about the DS HD option, I'll probably go with that.

I'm nearly your age sir. I also schlepped around a CD palyer and CD wallet. now I'm overjoyed that I don't have to. I could never go back now. maybe you jsut don't listen to music like I do. I ALWAYS ahve my ipod on me, because I'm ALWAYS listening to music. I never know what I want to listen to either, so I need alot of music on me.

Once again, I am not knocking the conveniance of mp3 devices, I am just saying that there are alot of us who cannot justify paying hundreds of dollars just for a bit more portability than a DiscMan or such can give us.
I would buy a 40Gb+ player in a heartbeat if I had the money to spare. Though, I would use it more for a portable HDD then a music player.
