A brand new Classic-style 8-bit Mega Man fan-game just released today.

Not to be confused with CAPCOM's cancelled Mega Man Universe.

Destructoid gave it 9.5. That's something.
Also, use the first download link. The others are disabled for excess traffic.

I'm hesitant to try this because I didn't have nearly the experience with Street Fighter X Mega Man that I'd hoped, due to what I believe to be my laptop's weak processor.
Also, nine Robot Masters? Once I've classified the first eight, whichever they are, where will the other one fit?

The ninth is hidden. You need to collect four hidden letters to get to it.

This game is pretty damn hard, but it's also quite awesome. The control is nearly perfect, far better than SFxMM. The levels might be a little too long, but there is a lot of good design to be had. The bosses are also much more fun than the ones in SFxMM. I definitely recommend this one.

So he finally released it, huh? It took a long time, but from what I've heard, it was well worth the wait.

Finally got around to beating this. It's very well done. Level design, boss design, storyline, everything is nice. Some parts are frustratingly difficult, but it makes it even sweeter when you win.

Did you find and beat Yoku Man, Vald? That stage is just insane. ><

My only grievances with the game are some of the stage check points (mainly the checkpoint system for the Wily Stages and Rainbow Man's. Fuck you Lazer Devil!) and the "fight" with Wily's prototype in the final stage (bad form!).

I did. And all without Beats or spike shoes. Mostly without any help either. I asked my brother which four levels had the YOKU letters, as I didn't wish to play through all the levels again not knowing if there was nothing to be found. Kinda like in Glue Man's stage.

BUMP. Now that I finally have Street Fighter X Mega Man under my belt (albeit without having fought Sagat or Akuma), I'll download this, expecting the same difficulties made bearable with a gamepad.
EDIT: Fittingly, I finished it today, having experienced none of said difficulties. Truly, the kind of game Capcom should never have stopped making.
