The real talking point is that the original document mentioned that they're going to spite Nintendo by not developing for them because Nintendo was mean to them 20 years ago. They only turned around on that when people pointed out to them that no one from that time is employed at Nintendo anymore.

There's a really good reason this genre died out 20 years ago. Night Trap is a terrible "game". This whole style of gameplay was boring and only really interesting because it featured live action people. Nowadays? Not really a big deal. Especially for that development goal.

Nintendo also tried to demonize Sega for Mortal Kombat and gun controllers while they had a zapper and a FUCKING BAZOOKA.

Now maybe a remake of Night Trap using new footage with new actors and modern production values, making it an actual horror game/movie instead of a schlocky parody of one? THAT might be awesome.

Not enough FMV games involving cats exist.

Wow. That failed and failed hard. Nice to see there are still people who remember Night Trap was terrible in the world.
And why do you need that much money anyways? It's not like you're using new footage.

I always wanted to play Night Trap and never did. I'll get around to it.
Just checked out the Kickstarter, no wonder it failed. $330,000 for a FMV game port? Fuck that.

It would probably be more likely and economical to re-implement it in HTML5 or something.
