I'm actually kind of happy. Not happy that people are losing their jobs, but Lucasarts has been releasing mediocre games for years, while sitting on great franchises. It seems Disney is treating the new Star Wars license with respect, and I hope they'll extend the same courtesy to everything else under the Lucasarts name.

I agree with Greg, but it is kinda sad considering the rich history they had with some of the old school games.

Yeah LucasArts had some great games in the past but a lot of their more recent stuff has been utter trash. If they'd actually let a real Knights of the Old Republic sequel get made instead of some shitty MMO that went F2P after a couple months they'd probably not be facing this right now. Also Force Unleashed 2 sucked and I was kind of rooting for them to go under after that and the MMO.

I said it multiple places already, but this is honestly great news. This means that other devs can develop sequels, reboots, etc.. to already established franchises owned by Lucasarts that have been neglected for far too long, and finally do them some justice.
Imagine Tell Tale making a Star Wars Adventure Game, or some other competent devs making Tie Figher sequel, Jedi Knight sequels, HD remakes of the SNES Star Wars games, a fucking Maniac Mansion sequel, some new Monkey Island games. So many franchises that could use some love, and ones that I bet dollars to donuts will be revived. They're too important to ignore anymore.

Or even a Lego Star Wars remake or The Force Unleashed 3! Oh god, I know I was joking, but that still hurt.

I feel the same way about this that I did with Interplay's bankruptcy. Yes, the developer was responsible for some amazing games, but its best days were behind it and it was ruining its rich franchise pool. I hope this is a positive step forward for the franchises Lucasarts represents, just as the IPs under Interplay ended up in better hands.

No. It's sad when a beloved publisher starts to turn into a once beloved publisher. I loved Lucasarts, which was why it was sad to see them release a string of bullshit titles that I didn't care about. At this point, it just feels like someone's putting them out of their misery.

Can they not both be sad? I'd cry if my Dad got bitten by a werewolf, but I'd also cry when I shot him in the heart with a silver bullet out of necessity.

The sequel to that game is Ghoul Patrol.

Yeah a new Zombies Ate My Neighbors would be stellar. It was one of the first video games I played as a kid because we somehow got an SNES before we got the NES.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors is one of my favorite games of all time, but Ghoul Patrol is kinda terrible. Here's hoping for a better sequel.

I liked Ghoul Patrol. The maps were bigger, and were a little more complicated to navigate. But either way, I would like to see this franchise get a re-boot.

As I thought more about this, and though it's effectively a dead series as far as I can remember. This means there will be no more Star Wars:Battlefront games |
