Come on! I mean I already knew about it but...come on!

"Currently slated to hit theaters on August 9th, 2013, Padilha’s Robocop reboot also stars Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jay Baruchel, and Jackie Earle Haley."
"In RoboCop, the year is 2029 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.
Director José Padilha (Elite Squad) reimagines the tale of part man, part machine, all cop starring Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) as the title character, Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises) as the scientist who creates RoboCop, and Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers) as media mogul Pat Novak. RoboCop is being produced by Strike Entertainment’s Marc Abraham and Eric Newman, with Eric Carraro as Executive Producer."

It's like for every one thing that sounds promising, there are like two stupid things to negate it.

Seems a little soon for a remake but I'd probably watch it if it was on HBO and I didn't have to pay to do so. Haven't seen the original in years anyway.
Next remake announcement prediction: Terminator.

Damn, BB. That was the first thought I had when I when I saw the thread. You know what that means... if the two of us can have the same idea, so can all those assholes in Hollywood.

That picture looked strangely like the Judge Dredd remake Judge, then I read the article, and got sad.

That's the most generic looking thing I've ever seen. Why the hell wouldn't you use the iconic Robocop suit.

Yeah, one of the reasons why I loved the original Robocop suit was because of how metallic and hard it looked; the new one just looks like general cyborg armor.

Yeah the first thing I thought of when I saw the new suit was Judge Dredd too.
I don't know, I kind of like the design of the new look but it really doesn't look like Robocop. I mean if you showed me that suit and told me another name I'd probably think it was good. When you tell me Robocop I kind of expect shiny and metal, because that is what Robocop looks like when you think of him. Changing the entire look of the title character is usually not a good idea in my opinion.

They could have at least made him silver, for fucks sake. Now he looks like Batman's fatter brother.
ED209 better be in this movie, as well.

That dude in the backwards cap, his internal monologue:
"Why the hell did I take this job? Sure I'm getting paid, but this is a great big pile of crap. My children are going to disown me when this comes out. We're making BatDredd. I should have studied law."

I'm not really liking the costume.
