I am about 30 minutes away from upgrading the wiki software. This should hopefully remove the random spam redirects some of you are either actually getting or claiming to get, and hopefully make the wiki better overall. but if it crashes and breaks forever, haha, oops.

My own wiki had a huge spam database injected into its header so that whenever I save an edit, all I see are Cialis ads everywhere with the actual links on my wiki pages stripped. It took me two upgrades to remove them for good.

Christ I hate MediaWiki. It is super userfriendly for you guys, but addons are a fucking pain in the ass. I wish it had a plugin system like Wordpress.

I'd be willing to try that. Or, if such a thing exists, a registration that requires approval from me and gives the user a small box to fill in as to why they want posting access/who they are.

You could have instructions telling new users to e-mail you for manual approval.
