So i was tipped off on this:
http://www.slashgear.com/baldurs-gate-iii-the-black-hound-tipped-14218443/

I haven't been able to check the Baldurs Gate site yet because it's down temporarily: http://baldursgate.com/

Apparently a new one may be on the horizon.

I've played the first one, it's pretty good. Heard the second one is better.

This place is about to turn into a boner party, because I'm in the same boat. Makes me wonder if they're going to use the (by then) newly released 5.0 system for it or keep it in 4.0. Don't really care, I'll deal with that as it comes. The scripting on it was tight as fuck. I'm hopeful Atari can do it justice, guess we'll see.

It may not be III.

On the page it shows art from the first game so it may be a remake of the first one, I really hope it is a sequel but I would settle for either.

A remake wouldn't be bad, especially considering that if they were doing another sequel, Hasbro would be stuck with the following options: use the old Forgotten Realms setting and undo what they'd done to the setting in the game books (basically, reconfigured the whole thing after the Spellplague hit) or put the game into the new setting (where parts of Faerun [the setting] swapped with other locations across the world and change how the whole game flows. Should be interesting to see what develops.

I wouldn't mind 4/5E rules if they were strictly within the context of a video game.

Yeah well i finally was able to view the countdown timer.

The background is the portraits from the first game. I sense a remake just.

Will see in 2hrs~.

do you guys think that if the enhanced editions do well saleswise they will make bg3?

Let's assume it's a mixture of the two!

I dunno, it will be interesting to see.

More interesting to see if it will attract the "bioware crowd" since both 1 and 2 are made by them.

Either that or will it hurt sales cause even though they no longer own the rights to the game it could be seen as their game still i dunno.

If this is the exact same game with improved ui, resolution, controls and bugfixes, I'm giving them whatever money they ask for.

I hope they don't fuck it up!!

From http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q3-2012/072712b.html

Yesterday, Overhaul Games announced full details and a release date for this upgraded version of the classic RPG Baldur's Gate. The Enhanced Edition will feature a new interface redesigned for high resolution widescreen displays and for tablet devices. The games multiplayer system has been greatly improved and features cross-platform multiplayer and matchmaking. There are all new cinematics with art from Nat Jones. Finally, there are also over 400 different bug fixes and refinements to the original title.

Along with modern interface refinements and bug fixes the Enhanced Edition contains a about 18 hours of new content in addition to the original game and the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion. The new content comes in the form of three new non-player characters and a stand alone adventure. The first of these new NPCs is a Calishite monk named Rasaad yn Bashir, whose new playable adventure features a new area called the Cloud Peaks. Next up is Neera, a wild mage whose adventure includes a new secluded hideaway. The final new character is Dorn II-Khan, a half-human/half-orc Blackguard on a quest for revenge, his adventure includes the new Blackguard class kit. Each new character is romanceable and each character's adventure adds four additional hours, so there are eight additional hours of gameplay in total.

The new standalone adventure is called The Black Pits and has you fully controlling a party of six to engage in arena style battles deep within the Underdark. The adventure will take you through fifteen levels of combat challenges and take you six hours to complete.

The Enhanced Edition is set to launch on September 18th for PC and sometime in September for Mac and iPad. The game will also be coming out on Android tablets at some point in the future. The game will cost $19.99 on PC/Mac and will cost $9.99 on tablets. The reason for the lower price on tablets is due in large part to the nature of app stores where expensive games tend to wither on the vine. So as a result the initial game will be $10 cheaper, but will only include The Black Pit DLC and Rasaad yn Bashir NPC DLC. If you want the additional two characters they will be sold for $3 each along side a new portrait and voice pack. If you purchase all of the tablet DLC the game will come out to $19.99 like its PC/Mac counterparts which include all of the DLC as part of the package.

The game will be exclusive to the Beamdog store on PC and you can pre-order the game now for a small discount. On Mac the game will be exclusive to the Mac App Store, and on iPad to the iOS/iTunes App store.

You can check the official site for more details and images.

Just give us a sequel. Neither BG1 or BG2 need to be remade, especially if you play them with the right patches.

yes they played quite well with the patches if I remember, it was one of the games I owned that I almost never had a problem with.

Bethesda could probably learn a thing or two from Bioware when it comes to actual programming

It was a complete pain in the ass to get them working, too many stupid addons patches mods etc, too many different ways to install (do I use my dvd or my 5 discs?) too much of a pain in the ass getting netplay working.

A remake just to fix those issues alone would be worth it.

Seems like a good collection of the details summarized in one place.
