Hey guys,

So my band is looking for a new name. We're currently going by The Two Words, which came about when I mentioned that all the best bands names are two words, and we added 'The' so it wasn't actually two words.

Great story, cool name, but! Besides there being a Kanye West song called 'Two Words', a podcast called 'Two Words', and some stuff in the Bible about God's two words being Law and Gospel, the name's easy to mix up. The Two Worlds, The Towards, The 2 Words...it's ambiguous in the wrong ways. So we've narrowed our list down to 4 new choices, and they are!

Shotgun Ballet

No More Nothing

Fight With Feedback

Back To Oceans

We need a name that has a cool ring to it, would sound good if spoken by a DJ, chanted at a concert, or just mentioned in passing by a fan. And we also need a name that, at least in a general sense, speaks to our sound. So please, opinions are very appreciated.

I mistakenly chose No More Nothing when I meant it to be Back To Oceans.

I voted Shotgun. Probably would have been Fight With Feedback, but I kept reading it as Fight the Feedback...and that bugged me. Confused

I'm learning guitar via Rocksmith. I've decided that, should I ever become good enough to record something, I'm going under the name Rabid Weasels. Possibly due to my unhealthy love of Return of the Living Dead. I picked Back to Oceans because it's somewhat indie sounding, I'm not going to lie, as well as the fact that it's kind of nebulous: are they going back to the oceans, like reverse evolution? Are they standing with their back to oceans?

I went with Shotgun Ballet because shotguns. Then, I noticed that if you read it in a hurry or drunk (both common things when dealing with bands, I would imagine :O ), one could read it as Shotgun Pellets, which is lame. Fortunately, those two words sound nothing alike so I still say Shotgun!

Shotgun pellets are still awesome. Personally, I prefer to make my own flechette loads instead because there's less risk of killing my neighbor with them if someone tries to break into my apartment and because nothing says "Get the fuck out of my house" better than dozens of barb-tipped pieces of metal flying at someone at near-sonic velocity. That said, I like to maintain a nice variety, although in the pump it's flechette first round (get out while you still can), slugs afterwards (you should've gotten out when I told you the first time), but I always keep some birdshot on hand in case I have some crowd problems.

Also, Ross, listened to your band and you're pretty fucking good! Definitely digging it. Really enjoyed the Float On cover.
