I've spent the last week and a half watching Let's Plays of Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles and Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles. And while they certainly look impressive compared to the original games, I'd have been too busy yelling variations of that very fact to enjoy them. And while the games do present original scenarios, they're attached to revisionist history, some of which was already revised to begin with. The worst things about each game are that Barry Burton was erased from existence and they never showed how Jack Krauser supposedly died. If the games were just Umbrella's End (minus the Crimson Heads and including the other two S.T.A.R.S. survivors) and Operation Javier (minus Jack Krauser as a playable character and acknowledging Leon's [and Barry's] stint in the anti-Umbrella organization), this post wouldn't exist. If Capcom really thought all those ideas for the old games were good, they should've put them in there in the first place.

Freebase any coke you have left and then smoke a pack of cigarettes and go for a walk, that should help.
If you mean you are coked up on Coca-Cola, then disregard my advice.

No, I mean cocaine. I've spent the last three days doing coke and reading Bret Easton Ellis novels.

Speaking as a drunk, this is the best thread ever. And I never even read the first post.

Any of you guys see the original cover art for Mega Man? It's hilarious.

I get it, you're going out of your way not to coherently respond to this thread. Sorry if my comments came off as trolling, but I just had to get it off my chest.

I came here to make snide remarks and hate on Capcom, but you guys melted the icy core that was my heart.

Let me just say this on behalf of Canada: This guy, in no way, represents the general population of Ontario.

I hear that Ontario is basically its own flavor of Canada.

If you think the Chronicles games are bad, try Extraction. That one has almost NOTHING in common with the Resident Evil games I know and love.

I didn't say they were bad, I'm just saying I wouldn't have been able to enjoy them because of the changes they make to the series' already convoluted history, impressive-looking though they may be.

I don't view them as changing the story, I view them as simplifying the story in order to make it more conducive to the simplified gameplay.
Resident Evil canon is like any other canon, when there are inconsistencies, you pick and choose what to believe.

And I choose to believe that [SPOILER:214bb2fba7]Leon's bleeding that green blood at the end of Gaiden was just, for once in Umbrella's life, a benign and temporary infection that cleared up before anyone, Leon included, noticed.[/SPOILER:214bb2fba7]
Incidentally, I really wish this thread didn't go in the direction that it did.
