GameStop will stop selling GameCube controllers, games, systems, etc. on April 2nd. So if there's anything you want to get, best grab it now; unless you're more into eBay or brick and mortar stores.

No, I meant other than GameStop, the only other routes to get GC games after April 2nd are eBay, pawn shops (maybe), and Brick and Mortar places with names like Game Castle, David's Discs, etc.

Well, a brick and mortar store is the opposite of an online store. I realize that GameStop offers online in addition to its brick and mortar stores, but if you were going to buy GCN stuff from them, you'd probably go to a store and pick through it hoping to find a good deal.

The shelves nearby have been kind of empty for a while, save for each rack having like 30 copies of Disney's Robots or whatever.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

I stopped buying anything from GameStop a long time ago as I prefer buying stuff from Ebay nowadays. This doesn't affect me one bit.

I have about 4 Gamestop stores withing 15 minutes of where I live and they all have a small but great collection of Gamecube games. I have been buying games I was missing from my collection for well over a year now for very cheap.

I haven't seen much Gamecube stuff at GameStop nowadays, anyway. If there is a new Gamecube game I want, I'll just hit eBay.

^^^

The real concern is when/if Nintendo discontinues the white Gamecube controllers when Wii U comes out.

I really need to look up a Best Gamecube Games list, because I keep seeing great prices for used Gamecube games in Gamestops and I have no idea what to get, other than the Resident Evils and Eternal Darkness.

Ummm here is what I came up with a best Gamecube list many years ago. I'll clean it up and add stuff that isn't on there later.

Raw list:
[SPOILER:f0aa0cdc3c]Super Smash Bros Melee-if you own GC you own this.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker-overall OOT outslices this game. Wind Waker is still a fantastic game in this day and age. It's combat put's OOT to shame.People who rush games may not be able to enjoy the carefree world it offers.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess- this game is basically from what I understand using WW's engine with Adult Link. This game should eliminate transportation problems and improve on the top-notch combat. It also should be noted Nintendo has probably listened to the problems WW had according to it's fans and fixed them so everyone will be happy. It will be on both Wii and GC.
Super Mario Sunshine-This game perfected the control and challenge of Mario 64.It lacked a good ending and didn't beat SM64 as an overall game.It still kicked incredible amounts of ass for a week's value unlike what water-phobic people have spoken.
Mario Kart: Double Dash-This game's racing is far better than Mario Kart64. The ability to switch back and forth as driver and attacker makes this game great for bonding/co-operation. The battle mode has nothing on MK64’s unfortunately. Anyway, this game is more challenging than Mario Kart64. The courses are lacking compared to Mario Kart64.
Mario Tennis: Power Tennis- improves on everything the original did. Turn off the power shots though.
Animal Crossing-Probably should wait for Wii version. If you play this with friends you’ll like it.
Pokemon Colloseum-GC version is better than N64's) with the added story mode and all the stuff you can unlock in your GBA games, but that’s not saying much. Of coarse I haven't bought this yet because Pokemon games outside of handhelds have never held much interest to me (besides Pokemon Snap).
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door-I'm gonna be honest and say I didn't enjoy the first PM that much, but this game is way better .
F-Zero GX-this game is far better than the N64 version. Multi-player is rather pointless though unless it could do LAN. This game has one of the most memorable moments this gen when Nintendo and Sega's name appeared on the same screen.
StarFox: Armada-Namco lackluster performance still a worthy investment at $20.
StarFox: Adventures-this was going to be on N64 than got moved to GC.Known to those who knew about it from the start as Dinosaur Planet. This game sucked so much Nintendo dropped Rare. Shooter parts are fun.
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life-never been a Harvest Moon person.I gave up on the GB game because I never had enough fodder or w/e to get animals. You say it's better on N64 so I'll take your word for it. Although is it better on SNES than N64?
1080* Avalanche-never owned either 1080's but heard the GC version wasn't quite so cool as the original. If you like speed over tricks this is your game. If you're a 1080 nut give me some comparison.

Mario Party4,5,6-It's pretty much the same thing.
Rogue Squadron2+Rebel Strike-these games are better than the N64 one by far. Now if they hadn't have added those pointless foot missions in 3...
Custom Robo-on N64 only in Japan. This game is about customization which it probably does better than it's N64 counter part. I heard the N64 game is faster than this...Regardless it's out of Japan now. Another advantage to Cube.
BomberMan:Generation-Single player on N64 had it's flair and trumped these sad attempts. Now multi-player is where you go to bomberman really and Gen has solid multi-player. I personally think this is the best bomberman game.
Zelda bonus disc-with Zelda1,2,OOT,MM)*note GC got Master Quest*.
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventure-It's a good multi-player Zelda with the 2nd best use of connectivity.
Metroid Prime+Echoes-hate it or love it this game blew everyone out of the water when it was released. This is Metroid using new technology to it's finest. Nintendo and Retro messed with 3rd person when they first started Metroid just to add but later decided upon putting it in first.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance -A GC Fire Emblem :cool guy:
Battalion Wars-a radical turn of the advance wars series which will be brought to us by Kuju. Why they didn't name it Cube wars is beyond me.
Eternal Darkness-Yes Nintendo managed to snag 2nd party Silicon Knights and made this gem. Shotgunning zombies has never been so satisfying. Now the team is wondering around in despondency...
Pikmin1&2-This game screams Nintendo innovation for GC. The first was to short but a grand idea. The second game is out of rental status and has been doing Reggie's motto.
Nintendo Puzzle Collection-this game has Pokemon Puzzle but has a lot of other games that I wouldn't consider it N64 resemblant. The game makes a good use of connectivity now if only Nintendo would release it here....
Super Monkey Ball1&2-these games are very fun. The industry needs more titles like this.
Beach Spikers-this game bitch slaps DOA:Volleyball in gameplay. Overall this is a pretty fun multi-player game that shouldn't be missed.
Skies of Arcadia:Legends-this game is what RPG's from Sega are all about. This game has become a favorite of mine.People complain about the graphics and music but that's pointless as SOA looks visually appealing with all the worlds and has that awesome inspirational theme.Quality stuff!
Sonic=DX,2:Battle, Mega Collection-What can I say Sonic is all over Cube. Sonic Mega Collection is the most notable of Sonic's games to hit GC. Sonic was originally going to be completely exclusive but someone at Sega botched up and decided to waste time porting to other consoles.
Phantasy Star On-line Ep.1&2&3:Card Battle-Ahh Sega on-line on a Nintendo system. The world never ceases to amaze...
Sega Soccer Slam- Meh,Iori said this was fun
Donkey Konga1&2- Drumming madness!
DK: Jungle Beat- Finest DK game ever made.
Mr. Driller Land-Namco love..Import!
Soul Calibur2-surely no fighter on N64 compares. The GC has the best version of this game and the best sales too. Of coarse Namco messed everything up with SC3.
Pac-Man V.S.-this game is the number1 reason for connectivity and is bundled with Pac-Man World2 for 20 bucks. Clearly this game rocks!
Tales of Symphonia-Namco RPG goodness. This game has an amazing combat system. Great RPG that would back the "Quality over Quantity" phrase.
Baten Kaitos+Sequel-this game has kickass music. In fact, I'm listening to it right now and have been for a week or so since MoMo sent me the OST. Iori said this was a great game and it got pretty good scores from Japan. This game is a game that will unfortunately get overshadowed, so please buy it. Very fun battle system and great visuals. Story can throw you for a loop occassionaly.
Homeland-using GC's as servers...this game has a lot of potential I think you'll like it Axe. Import!
Giftpia-an RPG without combat. Good game from what I know that has little chance of coming overseas.
Viewtiful Joe-this game was put on GC for GC has the hardcore user base. Which granted is true but it still seems like the game was a little to bit hardcore for some GC owning MB people here. Regardless this game is 20 dollars now and must be bought. I have the VJ bobble head only obtainable by reservation! This is the only game in the series you should get.
Killer7-This game is a part of Capcom's "Big 5" and it seems to fit an unmemorizable genre to. Arguably has the best music of a video game this gen and has sweetass visuals. The gameplay is fun when you play with style.
RE:0,REmake,2,3,Code Veronica,4-yes it's true Cube is the kiddy system with the RE series exclusive to it. Dumbass nay-sayers. Anyhow, this game was released on my Birthday and surely will get GOTY.
PN03-this is a hard game to talk about. Well it is actually hard. Maybe reviewers couldn't adapt to it which is why it got those low scores it should not have recieved. The special moves are pretty fanciful if I may say so myself.
MegamanXCollection+Megaman:Network Transmissions-yep Nintendo get's all the old good megamans. Now the collection had it's problems but it's still worth it. MM:NT is alright for a MM title I've bought it and haven started playing it yet due to buying to many games then these Nintendo thumbs can handle. These games shame the N64 megaman...
Capcom v.s. SNK2:EO-this game requires a arcade joystick or Hori’s digital controller. Shut up and buy one and get this game cheap now.
Gotcha Force- good luck acquiring this title. Quality game with customizable toy robots.
Geist-Nintendo's FPS which looks to take a new spin on things. Quite an adventure in single player and quite a bore in multi-player.
Ikaruga-Treasure's sh'mup that is ridiculously good.
Metal Gear Solid:The Twin Snakes-Konami is back with a brand new title on Nintendo’s… well not really. At least we have this game instead of the N64 Castlevania's. Konami are Sony whores. Nuff said.

TimeSplitters2- Free Radical, see where 1/2 Rareware's talent went made this game. The Arcade League stuff is great. The mutli-player is a lot better than those other vg fps games. Shame about the no on-line part.
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles-this is what Square managed to chock up after begging Nintendo to develop for their GB. Obviously Square was better off not leaving Nintendo and turning into the company they are now. Whatever the case, this game requires that you have friends with gba’s.
Kirby's Airride-One button underrated goodness.
Kirby GC- God I hope this game comes out for cube. This is a 4 player Kirby Adventure.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time-this is basically an acrobatic Zelda minus flawless combat. The third game is pretty good too.
Wario Ware: Mega Party Games-fun fun fun…
Wario World-never a big Wario guy. This game was done by Treasure and ended up being to short but good...
Doshin the Giant-import for the “you’re god” gamer.
Cubivore-wacky game made by Atlus, published by Nintendo. If you’re lucky you can find it for $40 since Atlus has to understock all of it’s games.
Shikigami No Shiro2-good sh'mup from what I hear. Import!
DDR Mario Mix: DDR on gc. Supposedly really easy but should provide some fun.
Chibi Robo- created by the maker of Mario. The title is self-explanatory. One of the few great games to come out in 2006 for the cube.
Odama- I’ve been interested in this for some time now. This is military strategy and pinball all in one. You have never played anything like this.
Beyond Good & Evil- bad experiences with this game. Well only cause it was the only new gamecube game to not play on my system. Worth a look.
Luigi’s Mansion- launch title for the system. Nintendo’s version of ghostbusters. Should be real cheap.
Alien Hominid- a classy 2D game with a level editor for multi-player excitement.
Super Mario Strikers- best soccer game and most certainly among the hardest.
Chaos Field- debatable whether this is a worthy addition to one’s library.
Lost Kingdoms I & II-another debatable game. It’s got cards and whatnot.
Evolution Worlds I & II- a Dreamcast rpg port. Never played it.[/SPOILER:f0aa0cdc3c]

The Gamestops out here stopped carry Gamecube merchandise over a year ago. Probably closer to two years ago. Almost all Xbox games, too. It's just several shelves of the same 12 PS2 games over and over with no covers or manuals, the discs scratched-to-hell. Sad

The last time I bought a game there it turned out they didn't have a copy of it, just the box/manual. He called to the other, nearby store and they had a copy. He then proceeded to toss the cover sleeve and manual in the trash. Shocked Of course when I go to the other store the game had no cover/manual so I then drove back to the first and got him to pull the originals out of the trash. Sadly no Can't they just keep that stuff in a drawer for when some jackass comes to trade-in just a disc? That was the last time I shopped at Gamestop.

Luckily, the Play n' Trade still carries Gamecube stuff, though it's mostly over-priced first-party Nintendo games.

And they clean the damned discs, too! Razz

I stopped in and picked up:

Super Mario Sunshine
Luigi's Mansion
The Hobbit
Gun
Gladius
Baten Kaitos Origins

I've never played any of them but I've heard good things so hopefully I enjoy them. And they were $6-$10 each so I'm not risking much.

I haven't seen any of them in any of the Gamestops here in quite a while, to be honest. Like, a year or two. I'm surprised it took them that long, to be honest. If you're in AZ in any of the metro areas, you can surely find them at Bookman's!

Who likes role-playing games? Me. Way too goddamn much.

The ones here still have tons of Gamecube crap but it is all games nobody would ever want to play. Crappy movie games mostly, all the good stuff has been bought already. Most of them have no Xbox stuff at all, and the PS2 games are all in bins marked Buy 2, Get 2 Free. Sadly only a few games worth playing are left and most of the ones there are in those cheap paper sleeves that scratch the discs. All the other stores that sold used games are gone too, so finding older games in my town is nearly impossible. Went to go to GameXchange the other day and they had closed with no warning at all, guess if I want anything older than current gen I have to go online.

Guess I'd better scoop up that copy of Bad Boys Miami Takedown while I still have the chance.
