This is just something I thought I'd do just to see how big a word I could wind up with. The rules are simple, start with one game title, and the following title has to start with the first game's last word in the title. Only full words count and if a game happens to be one word, it counts toward the "chain." Feel free to come up with something bigger. One last rule, you can't use the same title twice.

Resident Evil Night Driver 2 Advance Wars: Dual Strike Alley Master of Magic Sword And The Sorcerer of Claymore Castle of Dragon Warrior Blade Force One Day Cricket Captain America and the Avengers in Galactic Storm Across Europe War Room of Doom II: Hell on Earth Invasion From Beyond the Beyond Atlantis: The Lost Empire Earth & Beyond Pearl Harbor Escape from the Planet of Robot Monsters Inc. Scream Arena-Maze of Death in the Carribean Poker Sam & Max Hit the Road Trip: Shifting Gears of War Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising Sun: Imperial Strike Force Cobra Command and Conquer Yuri's Revenge of the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

That totals up to 57 games. For the record:
Resident Evil
Evil Night
Night Driver
Driver
Driver 2 Advance
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Strike Alley
Alley Master
Master of Magic
Magic Sword
Sword And The Sorcerer

And just think about what I might wind up with if I used games that only came out in Europe and/or Japan. I did a similar Name Chain with MtG cards, I got up to like 146. It was for a prizeless contest, but the winner beat me by using foreign language versions of card names. Eg. Gold Knight becomes Cavalier del Oro. I tried doing one for movies but movies tend to have shorter titles than video games.

I used to play a slightly easier version of this game back in high school... Someone would start off a band name and then the next person had to find a band name that started with the last letter of the previous band's name. The word "the" was ignored as part of a name. If you couldn't come up with one, you were eliminated. For example:

Pink Floyd > Dio > Overkill > Local H > Helloween > No Doubt

Etc, and so forth.

My friends and I had a game simliar to that with celebrity names. Someone would name a celebrity and then the next person would have to name a celebrity whose first name began with the same letter as the first letter in the previous person's last name. I'd do an example, but it's 5 AM and I haven't slept yet. It's not difficult, but it gets to be because you can't repeat names. This is one of the many words games we'd play while waiting for our orders when training soldiers on Fort Drum, that is, if we weren't sleeping.

I commend the gnarly bump. That is amazing. You should claim that as some video game name chain game new world's record.

That post of mine was a few months after I had joined. I was wondering why I got an e-mail for the website, I guess I must have had it set up to e-mail me alerts back then. Trippy.

I could make it longer, but I was really getting tired of having to skim through lists that included shitty iPhone games.

There were a few I discounted, the PC 98, ZX Spectrum, iPhone (why the hell does a Justin Bieber Trivia Game even need a damn FAQ??!!), e*Reader, Pippin, WonderSwan, and ColecoVision.

Honestly, you probably could have included Pippin, WonderSwan and Colecovision titles, as those were actually marketed as consoles.

To my knowledge, Pippin and WonderSwan never came out over here. I tried to stay away from games/systems with European/Japanese only releases.

Actually I DID use PC games. In some cases they were the only way to keep the extension.

I wasn't yelling at you, per se. But, I knew someone may try to claim PC games as being void.

Now according to your rules the game must begin with the last word of the previous games title. Though the above games break that rule, using more than the last title, and infact using the whole game name. Making the actual number 77. Now this is nitpicking yes but how do we know lord hasn't cheated about other things, do you want that in a forum champion?

My mistake, I got used to doing that with one word games like Quest and Atlantis.
