With the possible exception of listing where/what you donated charitably, there's no reason to bring up your political views to the IRS:

I replied -" 12 million illegal immigrants; "3 million crack heads; "42 million unemployable people on food stamps, "2 million people in over 243 prisons; " Half of Mexico; and 535 fools in the U.S. House and Senate." Apparently, this was NOT an acceptable answer.

What? The IRS can't take the truth!"

This woman is an idiot if she thinks she can make some sort of point with the taxmen.

Eh I'm all for making a point, but I can see why they sent that back.

That's an email chain joke I've seen a dozen times or so. Quite hilarious if you have a conservative viewpoint.

I heard it from my aunt who campaigned for Gingrich in her college days (and still thinks he's the shining light her party needs). That's the joke of this to me.

Evidently the Internal Revenue Service frequently receives income tax returns written on shirts, a la "take the shirt right off my back."

The professor who told me this implied that they usually accept them, though I wouldn't risk it. Wink

Gift writeoff.

Anyhow, this bullshit isn't funny. I'm as liberal as I can be, but even I'll just stop going to dailykos for a week or so when I see them try to attempt this obnoxious type of humor.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

Two reasons I know this is a joke.

1 - There's not nearly enough room on the tax form for this.

2 - The IRS does not fuck around. They'd be knocking on her door with an audit notice, and probably make her a "dependent" of the prison system for attempted tax fraud.

I don't know. I wrote an angry response to the IRS a few months ago calling them crooked disgusting thieves raping the common citizen of their hard earned income and they still haven't knocked my door down.

That's a letter. Not a tax form.

I actually did look this up. Filing a frivolous return (which is any tax return that isn't an actual accounting of taxes and income) is worth a $5,000 fine.

I guess that's appropriate since the government doesn't take enough money from us as it is.. But yes it was a letter. The IRS has been trying to collect bullshit back taxes from me for 2006 for about 4 years now.

I think they're just sick of people saying they don't have to pay income tax because Ohio isn't really a state.
