I went to the Audioslave/Seether concert this week (for FREE...thanks WBCN and Adam!) and it kicked so much ass. I've always been a fan of Soundgarden and Rage, and hearing them together gave me a semi-chub, although when they started playing Rage's stuff I was saddened not to hear Zach's vocals. It was just hard to imagine not hearing Zach scream "BULLS ON PARADE!" Tom Morello brought the place down, and Chris Cornell played a great acoustic version of Black Hole Sun for the encore.

I had never thought much of Seether before the concert. I had basically lumped them in with all of the other Korn-wannabe ripoffs that get played every day on BCN and AAF, but they fucking rocked. I was very impressed.

Did anyone else see this show? Is anyone going to see it?

Wow, as much as I wished I could've gone with you (and no sass about how I technically could've), I would NOT have been looking forward to hearing them play any of the stuff by Rage.

Well, I'll let you know if they ever play anything by Aqua or the Cardigans; I know how much you love them...ya sissy.

I don't know what I hate more, Zack's singing or Zack's politics. Since he uses one to promote the other, I guess it's a tie.

I was so happy for Tom Morello when I first heard that he got Cornell to front his band, it's great he's finally working with someone with talent.

I have to disagree with you, only for the fact that his "style", so to speak, matched the style of the band. It was jagged, it was raspy, it was "fuck you, I'm gonna kick you in the nuts, steal your girlfriend, burn down your house, and take a dump on your mom". He was what they're music was all about. It was a little disappointing hearing Chris sing Rage songs. It felt a little hollow and injected a bit too much melody into a certain musical style that shouldn't be melodic.

I'm not an anarchist, I'm not a socialist, so I don't agree with Zach's politics at all. I can easily shut out what lyrics are saying and just enjoy the music for what it is. Rage for me is just that: rage. I don't listen to it when I'm happy, and I don't want it to sound "happy".

Part of the reason the band split up was because Zach's politics were getting a little too extreme. He was becoming full blown communist, and extremely misantrophic in some aspects.

I still love RATM, because it talks about and fulfills the socialist side of my politics.
