I am starting a new series of thread discussions called "Cool Concepts". These are to talk about concepts that are underdeveloped and expand on them.
The praxis of Persona 3 never did what anything close to the awesome the idea contained. I bought a PS2 for this game (imagine that) and the balancing school vs saving the world concept sounded amazing. The game never pushes players into tough choices though. People would do all the school stuff then grind up on the last day when your characters never tire.
So what would you like to see done with this concept to better it? Here are mine:
A. Balancing friendships should be much harder
-a friend to everyone is a friend to no one.
B. Bullying or school conflicts should have taken place
-one time in the game it lets you interject when you hear someone talk badly about your deceased friend. Why not have more of these situations? You could see a bully picking on a kid and challenge the bully. You could BE the bully.
C. The Female relationships should be more complex
-the game should allow you to cheat on the girls and have some indepth system to avoid detection. You would have to answer questions right on where you were or have escort missions where you avoid detection from other girls you are dating.
D. Tests should have allowed you to cheat
-you can give answers to someone, but how about being able to get answers from other people?
E. The battle system should be muuuchhhhh better
-
Review of game's battle system
F. The balancing school with saving the world concept needs to be much harder
-no more last day grindfests in Tartarus where you don't get tired.
G. The relationship system needs to be overhauled
-no more simple answers. incorporate some wacky dramatic action elements into hanging out.
