From Kotaku...

This promotional video, released by Microsoft earlier this week, is simply called "Productivity Future Vision 2011". It's the latest in a long-running series the company comes up with on an annual basis, imagining what the world of tomorrow will look like based on advances from the world of today.

Yea, no flying cars and shit, but pretty cool to watch nonetheless.

I just got about 15 seconds into it...

As a guy who wears glasses, fuck them for assuming I would ever choose to wear glasses for any reason other than to see. The minute that laser surgery becomes affordable and a little safer, I will happily do that. Glasses that translate... fuck you Microsoft... go wear some glasses for a week and see how much you like it.

But the future's so bright...I gotta wear shades!

I think we're close enough to the future described in that video where we can get devices to interlink just by being close to each other.

But I can't see stuff like the holograms or the business card sized computer being available anytime soon in the next 10, or even 20 years.

But hey, people were surprised when we got laptops and cellphones to where they are. So I could be wrong

The future looks like it's going to drive me fucking nuts. Everything I touch is going to have windows and text boxes pop up.

I always wanted a HUD like Robocop's. I could target things/people, switch a thermograph on and off and record shit whenever I feel like it. And of course, never forget my prime directives.

Have you ever tried copying text from a cell phone and pasting it with a nearby computer?

If that's the future, then now is the time to invest in companies that make screen protectors. Sooo many touchscreens!

This. Why does everything in the future have to be a touchscreen operated with retarded Minority Report hand gestures. Just because people like it on their phones doesn't mean it's going to be everywhere.

And yeah, I agree about the glasses. Why put such a powerful translator on a pair of plastic glasses?

The Apple iEye? Could be neat, could also be the start of transformation into robot people.
