So, a second Monster Party Prototype Cartridge was discovered some time not too long ago, and the owners of it dumped the ROM and released it to the public. The download link can be found here!

Nice! I'd never heard of the prototype cartridge for this game, but upon reading about, this sounds very intriguing.

Are you going to update your article on the game accordingly?

Considering the Monster Party article is what led me to this site in the first place, I am quite intrigued.

No. That article is a snapshot in time. To alter it in such a way would be disingenuous.

I would like to do a follow-up piece, but that is going to be largely contingent on being able to translate the Japanese text. I can probably get a decent approximation through Google Translate, but that is going to be a horrible process, since I can't just copy and paste the text.

I really dig The Cutting Room Floor. It's pretty groovy to learn about hidden/removed stuff in older games.

It's already been done.

Since the text doesn't seem to be particularly different, maybe I'll just go for it. I was so hyped to play through it and would love to talk about it.

I've always been a fan of Monster Party and thought of your article the moment I saw the prototype ROM was available.

Needless to say I downloaded and played through it immediately.
