Yeah, I bought this
strange Nintendo Zapper from a seller in Venezuela. Both the box and the seller claim that the gun is an official Nintendo product, but even if it isn't, I'm not going to cry as it only cost me $3.25.
As the box also claims, this thing apparently has stereo sound, which comes out of the speaker when you fire it. I also like the really unique laser gun design, which is a lot cooler than the American Nintendo Zapper design. I must also note that this is for the 15-pin port on the Famicom.
Now, I have good news and bad news: The good news is I do, in fact happen to have a Famicom (a
Twin Famicom, even) and the gun's port fits in there like a glove. The bad news is that I have no light gun games to try it out on, as most light gun games for the NES/Famicom have been released in the west, particularly
Duck Hunt,
Wild Gunman, and
Hogan's Alley, leaving me with little reason to import them to begin with. I might still try to score a Japanese copy of
Duck Hunt to try this beast out in the future, though.
What are your thoughts on this thing? Do you think it's authentic? Do you think it's just some ripoff? Do you like the design of this thing?
Edit: I also apologize for the crappy pic. There will be more pics in the future, too.
