Yeah, the ROM hacks are quite creative. The level designs, the music, and the updated boss battle patterns are always interesting to check out. I really wish I had the ability to make some sort of custom Mega Man or Mega Man X game, filled with my own random ideas and obscure music sources.

When you make your hack, you should definitely use the Gort Man sprite.
