Chris Hansen received a taste of his own tactics when caught on hidden camera cheating on his wife. (No, he wasn't trying to molest kids or the Irony would be extreme).
Quote: |
He's made his name with a controversial show that catches would-be internet sex perverts in televised stings.
But now Chris Hansen has found himself on the receiving end of his own hidden camera tactics, after the married NBC anchor was secretly filmed on an illicit date with a blonde television reporter 20 years his junior.
Hansen, 51, has allegedly been having an affair with Kristyn Caddell, a 30-year-old Florida journalist, for the last four months.
Last weekend he was recorded taking Miss Caddell on a romantic dinner at the exclusive Ritz-Carlton hotel in Manalapan, before spending the night at her Palm Beach apartment.
Hansen, who has two young sons, was caught in an undercover sting operation arranged by the National Enquirer. |

Thought it was pretty ironic and funny myself.

What a hypocrite. So when Chris Hansen wants to date someone 20 years younger than him, it's cool. But when Trailer Park Bob wants to, it's not.

What he did was wrong and morally despicable, however all parties involved were mentally and physically agreeable and it wasn't illegal. That makes it a very different thing compared to the child molesters who take advantage of those who aren't able to defend themselves either mentally or physically.
Someone was looking to fuck this guy over badly because of his indiscretions. If it was his wife, then good for her. If it was the National Enquirer, that is fucked up.

It was a general comment.
What I find ironic about irony is how common it is. Given that it is usually negatively observed and then applauded, it doesn't speak good things about our culture.

Why don't we just declare poetic justice a form of irony and stop arguing about it?

Stuff like this is never surprising. Normally the biggest advocates against something are also the biggest culprits. Their crusade against such behaviour is to both remove themselves from suspicion and rationalize their behaviour to themselves.

This would explain why such super-conservative Republicans always turn out to be gay.

No. I'm not affiliated with any party, but I'm closest to a Libertarian. Since I'm of the opinion that ALL drugs, prostitution, and gambling should be legal, I don't think you can call be super-conservative.
And JRA, I watched it a few times; it was pretty funny. I think they were normally going after guys looking for people 14ish-17 cause they used people who were 18+ as decoys at the site and also to lure the guys there (they would go on webcam with the guys to prove they were real girls). I'm sure they would've like to get guys going after even younger kids, but you'd be hard pressed to find an 18 year old who was believably 10. Also, I've said "people" and "kids" because they used both male and female decoys.
Two favorite scenes from the show:
1. Like 75 year old guy claims he wasn't going to have sex with the 16 year old girl cause he can't get it up.
2. Guy walks into the house, sees Chris Hansen FOR THE SECOND TIME after having been caught on the show months earlier, and says "oops!".
